Where do you get the wool that you use? If it's a website, can you send me a link, please? :3

I attempted to use a wool-based yarn but it went terrible, so I will definitely check out Joann's.

I wonder if it would somehow be possible to sow them into a hairband... looks easier to use

Why not try a bobby pin or hair clip, or find a synthetic thing they use on hair extensions and put it onto that?

awesome, I must try this, surely! thanks
I have a question, can I glue the final dreads (this glue become transparent and shiny) or it's useless for it take away the warmness and softness of the wool? or can I glue only some parts, end of the dread or middle?

This tutorial is absolutely fantastic and i am definately going to give this a go!.
The only thing is were i am its hard to find that sort of wool to do it with. Do you know if its possible to do this either with yarn of any type or is there a way you can turn yarn into the right sort of wool to do it with?
If you could answer that or even link me to somewhere that will give me an answer that'd be great

Rolling it between your hands helps because it squeezes more water out.

About how much roving wool do you estimate I should get for a 60-70 dread set? Basically I just can't figure out how many ounces of wool to buy. Can you help me out?

Random question, do you take them out every day or do you leave them in for a while?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
savinaswings In reply to MissLaneyLuck [2008-12-13 20:42:32 +0000 UTC]
I leave them in for awhile. usually three weeks or so. the wool ones are a little harder to deal with than the synth. ones because you dont really want to get them wet. But they are a lot more comfy...and warm

What a cool tutorial! I just started hand-dying my own wool, and this gives me one more fun thing to do with it!!
Is it difficult to put them into a wig? I wouldn't be able to wear them in my hair, but a wig might do the trick...
