Description Just a simple tutorial for making roving dreads. this is fairly easy to do, but hopefully this will be of use to someone

You can buy roving in loads of different colours from ebay, it's fairly cheap (about £3.00 for 100 grams) I use merino wool tops. Roughly 100 grams of roving, divided into 1 metre lengths & split into 4 gives you approx 16 single ended or 32 double ended dreads, I find that enough for ONE dread fall. To make two i'd suggest buying 200/300 grams of roving.. But I like my dreads full & thick so I normally use 400 grams!

Please see my Synthetic Dreads Tutorial on how to make synth dreads!

This is great! I have dreadlocks, (not fake, ones in my hair) and I have heard that you can attach these to the ends of your dreadlocks as extensions. Do you have any idea if this would work? Thanks and, again, this is great!

Yea, I've heard that too...
Maybe you can just sew them in or something? I am really eager to get some more length or get a nice funky colour so this might be a cool idea!

I've done this now! It does work, you use a crochet hook and it works! Mine look really good and I think it will work for any other extentions...
I will explain how I did it if you want? But good luck with your hair anyways !!!

Fantastic! I'd bought some of that stuff in hopes of making dreads but all I knew is how to felt with it. This is really going to help! Thank you!

How do you suggest we end them to put into hair? At shortest my hair is probably 2 inches so I'm not sure How to get them in unless I make a total "hat" out of the dreads...

So you don't backcomb? How do they stay together, because I know with synthetic hair dreads you have to seal them...

the wool felts, or "comes together" because it's fiber. with synthetic hair you have to backcomb to make it stay in that thick, nappy dread positiion.

What happens when you get them wet again? Do they fall apart?
