That's because you have a sense of humour You see, a true believer doesn't need to preach or prove to somebody that doesn't believe or makes fun of their beliefs that they wrong, they just don't care and they even find it funny. As I find funny many people making jokes about what I believe.

My friends(Muslim) thinks that her religion is the only real one since Christianity and Judaism edited their books but I tried to tell her that it too suite today's society(That's what I think). The Koran hasn't changed in any form whatsoever. I feel so sad that such a highly intelligent girl is so ignorant and deluded. Just because Hinduism and Buddhism are made up to you, does not mean you call my religion(Buddhism) or others false?

Sc1r0n In reply to Tazzie98 [2011-10-01 06:10:02 +0000 UTC]
You say you feel sad for that girl because she believes in her own religion and denies to consider others. I say good for her, to trully believe in something but she made a mistake. The Koran as well as all the "holy" books of any religion out there, sadly, they are man-made. Most of the stories you'll find in these books are from past civilizations, most of them dating hundrends of years before those religions even existed. People always need to believe in something higher than themselves because they need something to look up to, something that will give them comfort, because we are mortal, because we are affraid to die.
Some choose God and religions to find that comfort, others choose science and logic. Now, as I said previously to many people, from all the religions around I find Buddhism maybe to be the best. Because Buddhism at its core it's not so much a religion as it is a belief system, a way of living. I totally respect that

I've glanced at a few of your posters and you know what. You raise a perfectly good point. I mean, there's so many wrong things happening around the world and it's like nothing out there is trying to fix it.
Even with how religious people have become, it's like they've gotten selfish and only care of what's going on in their church (or what other religious group you go to :S )
It's sad really.
And then when people point it out, what do they do? They get defensive and shout back. Well, if you did get defensive, maybe you should realize that it's true. Your 'religion' may be doing NOTHING for the world. Maybe you should DO something to change that.
I got defensive. I'm a Christian. And no, I'm not here to bash your work. Cause in truth, it hurt and you know what? I'm not just going to yell back and do nothing about it. We Christians need to learn from things like this and actually SHOW the world His love. Then maybe they'll realize how we feel towards things like this.
Thanks for the heads up buddy. I hope others out there see my point when they look at your art. Then maybe people will see the good finally happening~
God bless you!

Since the author has made it clear that this poster is only a joke, I will respond that I would call a one sided conversation a rant session, in my own case.
As for all of the other debates/arguments that are going on, it seems that people from both sides of the argument, are just waiting for someone to post a comment using certain keys words so that they can proceed to rip apart some other unassuming person. (I've read almost all the comments)
So I'll keep my beliefs to myself thanks.

I agree with you my friend, no matter what I do it always becomes a war between atheists and theists. I'm not a fan of "they started it" not only because I believe it to be childish, but also because I believe I'm responsible for this situation...I want people to have polite conversations using solid arguments, I want to tease people minds and make them think and laugh, but anger seems to overpower everything...
Thank you so much for your kind comment

Opinion's are a funny thing. Water can be hot or cold but there comes a point when water boils or sticks to dead black skin and opinions won't matter. I am not given opinions, I am giving what know, and I am sure that if you came to a personal experience seeing someone who you know or )you yourself) was at the verge of death or pain deep enough for suicide to be contemplated and a 'one sided conversation' By a church of twenty in a borrow space in Cambridge OH, that doesn't ask for money, but does leave a box by the door that usually receives 20-40 a month, really did fix the ailment to inexistence (with doctor's declaring so). You would be angry at posters like this, too. Esp. when those who argue don't the materail they are opposing to. They argue as though motivate soully by 'House' episodes. No, one ever looks into the facts within history or detailed prediction fulfilled, condition's that throw other religions out the window.

Sc1r0n In reply to DukeTravers [2011-09-06 14:16:44 +0000 UTC]
Ok, now lets talk with solid facts : As fast as science is progressing and people are being properly educated and let free to build their own opinion, religions are declining. This doesn't happen because people suddenly stopped believing in God. Most people still believe that there's "something" out there that is responsible for all that we understand to exist. Now, as I said, people believe. It is man that created the theory that God might exist and it's man that is trying to prove the existance or not of God.
People can believe what they want to believe, they can pray, they can cheer, they can be filthy rich and preach to others about the good Samaritan and they can also chose not to believe in anything. Anyhow, the result is the same : People want to be happy, people want not to be afraid of death. If praying makes them happy so be it, but, everybody was the right to speak about everybodys opninions no matter how "personal" they are.
At least I try to do it in a non-offensive manner, and as I said in the past, I try to tease people minds and make them laugh. It's actually very simple.

First off, let me say sorry for the grammar. I really was in a hurry. I Usually am. Second off I have always sat on the fence toward Atheism. And lastly I have quite a bit to refer to myself out of my own struggles and internal conflict. I don't wish to hog the comments so I am only giving some of the facts in a basic skeleton. Sadly some of this is personal, in those cases; documentation would be out of the question. (Even if I did have any, in this sort of crowd, one thinks one can make evidence less reliable with a single a single word or sentence. Also I am not here to "slap you in the face because you don't believe me. I just feel I deserve to explain why I know my God is real through experience and best facts I can think of at this time. I am a try for journalism so...
In one to two years my youth group (which is not part of a big fancy church) had gone from 8 attendances to well over one hundred (here is a picture for some notability [link] ) They never show up all at once sadly. No one that I have seen was leaving and in the 2 churches and one small mission that I have attended or that youth group since I was around, so the statement of some many people leaving the church is either a 'glass half full' situation, where I am just in that environment away from that decreasing Christian population or you are misled by you own numbers. What I mean to say is not that you are wrong. I know that fact but it is not for the reason you think. If science's revolution begins in 16 century than the fact that the Christian populations decline could not be caused be science. It would make more since that counterculture is the biggest reason as most of the youth at that time wished to rebel and most of the traditions, ideal and values of that youth was Christians centered...you get the idea.
I will digress, and explain the condition of the members of my youth group to show that it is more than just a group to feel good, but actually an effective process for improvement. Most of this children are within atheist families and were atheist themself, with parents both lashing out at the group and there leaders (one of which was such a hard core atheist that she shooed away a priest at her own mother's funeral) at us as a cult and yet bringing their children here, because of the improvement in their behavior towards everything. The parent's know whatever happens in that church is working (it could be that they just can't believe it, because they grew up with this mindset engraved in them.) This leads to the biggest fact I have these youth that have joined my group (open to ALL by all meanings of the word) did not solely transfer to this relationship with God by the good tingly feelings in have. No, they come for the long awaited progress to the better circumstances that had eluded them and life and when it slowly leaks into their lives, after all that logic and effort. They know is must be God.
And if those doctors out there wish to challenge the mental level of this. Which I know are some good points out there. I have seen them, too. I return to describe that small mission referred to above. Now this mission is less than twenty strong in a once close jewelry store in the corner of a small city, same as the church and youth group. They openly do not care who you are and will not change you unless and until you wish to be changed, and will love you without hindering still and offer free coffee and food. As for that money thing you said in another post I replied to, (Which has me doubting your motives and your self-proclaimed attempts to be non-offensive.) there is a box near the door with a cross on it, in a month in is has two sentences dedicated to it and the largest thing, I've seen going into it was a check for twenty. What that is used for has always been the debate, but in obviously is not enough to fake miracles.
So, This mission has done a lot of medical works, usually it is the successfully treating backaches, headaches, colds and such of people in the church who we know could not have the time to arrange like this, (what would they get out of it anyway, 5 bucks in who knows what time?); But those few actually reading this behemoth of a comment, I can figure what you are saying, βPlacebo-ish stuff!β. But I have never heard of a scientific experiment that told a guy that a drug will fix his broken bone. God did so in the mission that I go to. And for those who say that this is stage, I remind them that members here are either suffering financially or barely getting by. My mother watched as a woman who clearly had a deformity in which her one leg was shorter than the other and mom told me that she watched as the one leg grew to equal the other.
I do not have the link to one of these documentaries, but I am sure the title is βFinger of Godβ βFurious Loveβ Finger of God, has a Christian man who hears of the more extreme religious occurrences and is unsure of them. I only recommend watching it if you allow yourself to be open. Thatβs like trying to pour water into a water bottle with the cap on. If your heart is not open then just donβt bother till it is. One of the interviewers for βFinger of Godβ is a member of my church who does go out to places like Iraq to share the word, and βFurious Loveβ is from the same guy so it is not staged like you would like to believe. And trust me, at some points the accounts are very unbelievable. I mean youβll be told that perfectly formed jewels fell from out of nowhere during worship. Even that is odd to me.
Finger of God first part: [link]
But how about a longer course of time, will Christianity triumph the others, First off most of you should already know from the extensive studies you have placed on the subject that not every nation is big and strong and all of the Character are either terrible or outspokenly correct role models. So this is the amount of what nations had the religion and the cause and effects around them. Please also try not to suddenly get upset about the facts below and suddenly treat the rest of the account as nothing, Iβm not accusing. I have just had a lot of experience with that sort of action. You might also call these occurrences coincidences, and they very well may be, but they lock to the beliefs that go with to the religion and as Albert Einstein himself once said, βCoincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous.β
Christianity was the run of Rome, or at least soon became it. The use of the values for law were probably was the one of the causes of the transformation of the religion from rebellious group of 12 hated people seeking to spread Godβs word and love, to the conservative religious and legal mentality it has been experienced as. The Romanβs was pretty advance. It even had running water. Then the empire was invaded by Anglo-Saxonβs; they had a belief in Germanic paganism. Not going to attack pagans, I have friend there and to do that would insult them. It this invasion, they destroyed all the romanβs advancements and a whole new period called βthe Dark Agesβ begin. See what happened there. Iβll move on two what happened next. The Anglo-Saxons had moved to what is now called England, during this time the king of those land converted to Christianity, which spread was basically the ender of that time period.
I might not respond to any replysβ¦Just saying
