Krystalak has grown on me. I didn't care for him when he first came out, but now that I've seen him in action, he's not to bad. Now, I can't wait to use him to kick some ass!

I just wish he didn't have such tooth-pick like legs.....

Nice work. It's nice to see the crystal 'beard' accepted and properly tailored, instead of completely dumped, like most people would have.
The beard's presence isn't the problem, as it completes his design and gives him character. The problem with it lies in the akward way the CGI model attaches it.

The drawing itself is rather appealing. It's as lanky, slinky and ferral as Krystalak was clearly intended.

Thanks! I'll admit I wasen't horribly fond of his beard at first, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it.

I'm glad you think he's properly feral and "slinky"-both perfect terms to describe Krystalak!

Hey, no pressure on the 'redesign series' front...that can eat up any artist/writer's time & energy, and is best done at one's own pace.

Thanks for the tip regarding Krystalak's motion...when/if I ever pick up a game system which supports Godzilla Unleashed (I still play DAMM and Save the Earth on the X-Brick), I must keep this in mind.

I'll likely take my sweet time on it, if I ever get the right story for it.

I only have a PS2, so I'll be getting the "dumbed down" version of Unleashed. Too bad my sister doesn't like Godzilla. She has a Wii (damn her! ).

If you want to see Krystalak in motion, I think there are a few vids on Youtube of him. He's fun to watch

Posture & design-wise, this guy(?) resembles what you might get by tossing Anguirus, Orga and Space Godzilla into one of those fusing teleport pods from The Fly(C)...and yet he doesn't look half-bad. The way you draw him, those thin hindlegs aren't really that misproportioned, and that spiky 'beard' simply resembles an exaggerated version of some lizards' throat-scutes. The two upper poses are especially dynamic...is Krystalak able to switch between biped and quadruped stances in the game?

As ever, you do a great job with extremities as well-those paws are quite neat, and that tail-club is awesome...if you ever get around to sketching Anguirus, I strongly recommend a similar feature.

Thanks! He does look like a blender-monster, but he works somehow.
He runs on all fours, and stands for attacks, from what I've seen in videos. He looks cool when he runs.

I'm not sure if I'm going to do this or not, but I may take a crack at a Godzilla redesign series in the future (but then again, I may not, so...) if I do, though, I'll draw Anguirus with some sort of club. I'm still running through some stories to explain the monsters at this point, but none of them have really "worked" so far.
