My entry for 's Legendary Evolution contest, 3 hours before deadline.

Name: DUSKGRIM
Species: Reaper Pokémon
Type: GHOST
Height: 7'03''
Weight: 196.6 lbs.
Ability: Reification
allows GHOST-type moves to affect NORMAL-type foes
Signature move: Depart

99% accuracy
OHKO on contact, bypasses STURDY
HOWEVER has only 1 PP that cannot be restored in battle, though maximum can be increased w/ PP up

Legend:
People all across the world have always been acutely aware of their own mortality. Stories are written, sung and danced in respect and fear of death and the afterlife, and mankind in it's own time began to associate death with itself, giving it a name, an appearance, a depth of character hitherto unseen by living beings on earth.

It is impossible to know, however, how much this belief contributed to the origin of this creature.
A wild, recently-Evolved Dusknoir, revelling in the power it's metamorphosis granted it, realised that the Unknowable power inherent in the Reaper Cloth that Evolved it could be utilised for it's own greater benefit, to become the most powerful Dusknoir in the land.
Roaming the Earth, the Dusknoir collected every scrap of Reaper Cloth it could find, weaving for itself a Shroud from those scraps, and every addition caused it's Unknowable energies to grow and concentrate.

Seven months since the Dusknoir's quest began, the Power suffused within the Shroud reached a critical point, and burst forth, forever changing the Dusknoir, a Pokémon that already inspires fear, into a being that personified the greatest fear of all living things.

The Dusknoir may not have known the consequences of it's actions, but DUSKGRIM certainly did. The Evolution altered mind as well as body, granting both the power over life and death, and granting the responsibilities that come with them. Fearing for the misuse of it's own abilities by outside forces, DUSKGRIM fled for a far away land, hiding deep within a forest where it believed no-one would care to look for it.
The other Pokémon of the forest were unfortunately not welcoming. Recognising this new Pokémon for what it was, they feared for their own lives, and also understood that they stood no chance of evicting or destroying it. And so whisperings of DUSKGRIM's existence passed from Pokémon to Pokémon, across the world, till they reached the ears of Trained monsters, and in turn the ears of their Human masters,for the forest Pokémon knew that Humans would prove a match for the Beast.

Today Men and 'mon from across the globe converge on a single location. Some want to talk, many want to kill, others want to capture for their own gains, not all of them sincere.
