Description The Bayside Police Department is divided into seven patrol districts: District One covers central Bayside and the citywide Emergency Services Unit, District Two covers northeast Bayside, District Three covers northwest Bayside, District Four covers southeast Bayside, District Five covers southwest Bayside, District Six covers the highways within Bayside, and District Seven covers the Bayside Executive Airport, the department's Air Operations unit, all beaches in Bayside, and the departments Marine operations unit.

Within the patrol districts there are many special units. School Safety operates in six of the seven districts, and is responsible for the school resource officer program, the DARE program, and the crossing guard program. DUI Enforcement is strictly part of District Six, and is responsible for DUI Checkpoints and DUI enforcement throughout the city. The Transit Division assists the Tri-County Transit Authority patrolling the various transit stations within Bayside in support of the Transit Authority Police. Various units within the Bayside Police Department use undercover vehicles, but specifically to the patrol division they are used for speed enforcement. The Citizen Patrol Unit operates in six of the seven districts, acting as auxiliary police to support the department where it is needed. The Mounted Unit is part of District One, and patrols the Central Park area of Downtown Bayside, as well as assists in crowd control around the city.

School Safety patrol cars are staffed by one school resource officer, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, one in car speed radar system, five road flares, two traffic vests, one light tactical vest, one heavy ballistic vest and helmet, two rolls of crime scene tape, one gun lock for a AR-15 carbine rifle and a mossberg 590, one less lethal shotgun, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, one AED, and one Narcan overdose kit.

DUI Enforcement patrol cars are staffed by one patrol officer, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, one in car speed radar system, one portable speed radar gun, five road flares, two traffic vests, one light tactical vest, one heavy ballistic vest and helmet, two rolls of crime scene tape, one crime scene possessing kit, one gun lock for a AR-15 carbine rifle and a mossberg 590, one less lethal shotgun, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, one AED, one Narcan overdose kit, one breathalyzer kit, and one stop stick kit. There are currently five of these half cop/half taxi cars in the fleet, the rest assigned to being part of DUI enforcement are regular patrol cars.

Citizen Patrol cars are staffed by one citizen volunteer officer, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, five road flares, one traffic vests, two rolls of crime scene tape, one dry chemical extinguisher, and one first aid kit.

Mounted patrol units are staffed by four patrol officers, and four equine officers and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, five road flares, four traffic vests, four sets of riot gear, two rolls of crime scene tape, one gun lock for a mossberg 590, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, one AED, one Narcan overdose kit, four horse lead ropes, and four saddles.
