It doesn't work for me Dx When i double click on the background layer it just stays on the same layer (It's probably me just being dumb :/ )
Do you have any help please?

Is the layer still locked and called background? I'm not quite sure how to help because I've never had the problem. Can you provide a screenshot of your workspace (entire photoshop space with an image with the problem open)? I'd like to help best I can

To do all this stuff, do you have to have a Tablet?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
scheree In reply to vampirebat38 [2008-07-11 22:49:48 +0000 UTC]
all this, no. this tutorial just goes over making your scanned image see through so no tablet required. It can be done with the mouse
((I'd never heard of a tablet when I made this ))

Holy Shizzle!! It works! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how I should start colouring (This is my second time trying to colour, the first attempt failed miserably), and I remembered seeing this tutorial. Thanks again!!

I can't see it! When I click full view, it doesn't appear at all, and when I click download, I get an error message. Is there another place where it's archived? *puppy eyes*

no there isn't. I've noticed DA having some image problems over the past week or so, so that may be the cause. It seems to be working just fine now

This seems like a really great way of doing it, I'll have to try it sometime.
An alternate way in Photoshop is to scan it in (darkened, undarkened, it shouldn't matter), then put it on its own layer, make white the foreground color, choose "select color range" under select, and cut that out. Then, if it still needs to be darkened, check that "lock transparent pixels" option and go over the whole thing with a black brush.
(if you're looking for alternate ways, that is. XD)

that is really useful!! But i have 1 question. well i tried this for adobe photoshop and it didn't work
....i know i did it wrong. But it was just the last part making it see through, i didn't get the tip, what does it mean? Lol, could you help me and explain?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
scheree In reply to Kaira-Keronechvich [2006-01-19 08:42:40 +0000 UTC]
the tip, well once your image is on it's own layer and set to as multiply if you don't already have another layer under it with a colour it will remain looking white. but once you put a layer with some colour under the layer with the image (and colour under the image of corse) you'll see the colour indernieth your picture
i hope that helps
p.s. sorry for the long wait for a reply, i've been on holiday
