Silly Fluttershy, Jet's not a bird! (...or is he?)Poor Jet, he doesn't know what to be confused by. The fact he's being nursed to health by a pegasus, or her mistaking him for a bird, who knows.
I take it that in Equestria no pony has ever come across a human being, let alone one capable of flight.
I was originally gonna draw her healing him from the Everfree Forest, but I find it hard to imagine her tending his wounds in a forest where all the animals care for themselves (and the fact she's terrified of going into it).
Angel's shaking his head like "that's NOT a bird Fluttershy".
I had to add the butterflies here. Not having them made the pic look too boring; but I also don't want too think they're distracting either.
*btw I realized I made Jet too skinny here, he's supposed to be more barrel-chested, oh well!*

I can just picture Fluttershy going "You're a funny-looking birdy, aren't you? Where are your wings?" Seeing as he doesn't even have the holes in his shoes to show HOW he flies... xD Super cute.

I find that hard to believe since she's quite the zoologist (mostly ornithological), but even here she couldn't tell Jet from a toucan. ;o
I dunno why I never draw holes in his shoes, but even in the anime (except for his cyborg uniform) the holes are never present in anything casual he dons.

I know, Soldat-J was actually a kind-of "nod" to Jet, right down to the very serial number too.
Plus I don't think Soldat-J was ever seen in anything casual. ;/

Seriously? Well, okay, the hair and nose makes it rather obvious, but I thought that was just some random coincidence or inspiration from one artist to another! I learned something today, wheee~! 8D

Actually, I made a deviation regarding that.
Jet did actually come first, waaaaaaay before Soldat-J did.
Sunrise (the company that did King of Braves) got permission to make a character that was a nod to Jet, so there were no hard feelings about his likeness being used in that anime.

Hmmm, wanna know what I don't know either. 
I think the only time I really like drawing him in his uniform is when he's with the other cyborgs (but that's just me!) That or he just looks good in anything casual.
