hopefully it works with your version of photoshop! (and that you have photoshop) it's basically just the default airbrush (hard edges) with shape dynamics turned off, with wet edges/airbrush/smoothing on! and then i adjust the size/hardness manually according to what i need at the time

For the flats I usually start with what they're meant to be and make it cooler/warmer and darker/lighter depending on the setting c: and for shading I either pick a slightly lighter, desaturated version of the background or its complementary.
(I actually have no clue about colour theory so I just hope it turns out okay!)
I still can't believe you do everything with a mouse ;;

sounds too complicated for me. I'll stick with slapping colours on a sketch and hoping it looks allright.
