This was done using my finger on my laptop's touchpad! The lines are a little more scraggly than I'd like, but alas, my finger is just not as accurate as I'd like it to be. XD It's my first official piece using GIMP, so I have no idea what I was doing and ended up editing it on MS Paint later...so sorry if the quality looks a little bad.Anyways! This is a list of all the boss monsters in Monster Hunter Tri. I'm sure many people use their own nicknames for various characters and bosses in different games. While there are "official" ones for the Monster Hunter series, such as "los" and "ian," I would play the arena mode with friends who weren't familiar with the game. They won't remember what a "qurupeco" is, but they'll know if I say, "Let's fight the big chicken again!" And so the use of these nicknames began.
Also I think chicken is just easier to pronounce.

I call the Lagombi the Easter Bunny "GIVE ME MY CANDY YOU CHEAPSTAKE RABBIT" or I could call him Bugs, just so I could say "Be vewy quiet. I'm hunting Bunny wabbits"

Qurupeco being displayed as a chicken makes a lot of sense. Instead of killing hunters by himself, he relies on other monsters to do the job for him.

I call Uragaan "Crimson Chin". There's also "Goddamit"(Lagiacrus), "Fuck you" (Rathalos), "HOLY SHIT"(Jhen Mohran), "Shoop da Whoop"(Agnaktor), "Get the fuck down you asshole"(Qurupeco) and "Saber-Toothed Dragon"(Barioth).

That nickname for rathalos, so true! His roar then fireball? Bleh, cheap move! And the nickname for qurupeco, I usually associate that with rathalos, stop circling up there and get down here and fight! Face me! Ah! Wait, wait, gotta drink my potions, oh go away, go back to flying! Some colorful names you have there.

It does look like a lot of fun with all the new things they implemented to the hunt! I don't know if the grapple will be able to keep rathalos from taking off since it looks like it only works in certain situations, but at least it looks really cool. I'm still not done with MH3U yet but I'm sure once I am, I'll be itching for MH4 like no other. The last few days before the MH3U preorders were shipped were a terrible, terrible wait! XD

Haha well I think the same could be said for a lot of series regardless of the company that makes them- they pretty much are just a remake of the same game over again with a few innovations, but that doesn't stop them from being fun for the right audience.

How do you personally pronounce Ceadeus? I've heard people call him cay-dee-us and see-ah-doos...(but at least we all know how to pronounce Helios!)
Will you be getting MH3U? And nicknames are fun! Plus easier to type... and great when trying to get new people to play the series since nicknames are just easier to remember.

I pronounce Ceadeaus as See-A-Dus. There's so many different ways to prounounce monsters names, but at least we get what people are saying.

Yeah, when I watch Youtube videos, it's interesting to hear all the different ways people are pronouncing them, though I'm sure there's some "official" way to say it... like I just found out in the past month from Capcom's official translation notes that Gobul is supposed to be pronounced like "gobble," but I've been saying "goe-bull!" XD
Verily! MH3U is really fun! I haven't done online yet since I want to complete offline first (well, I've played some local multiplayer if that counts) but so far I'm loving it a lot. Drunken bear! I just all it the bear. XD Then there's also the zappy puppy, helicopter camel, big mouth...hooray for dinosaurs!
