This was done using my finger on my laptop's touchpad! The lines are a little more scraggly than I'd like, but alas, my finger is just not as accurate as I'd like it to be. XD It's my first official piece using GIMP, so I have no idea what I was doing and ended up editing it on MS Paint later...so sorry if the quality looks a little bad.Anyways! This is a list of all the boss monsters in Monster Hunter Tri. I'm sure many people use their own nicknames for various characters and bosses in different games. While there are "official" ones for the Monster Hunter series, such as "los" and "ian," I would play the arena mode with friends who weren't familiar with the game. They won't remember what a "qurupeco" is, but they'll know if I say, "Let's fight the big chicken again!" And so the use of these nicknames began.
Also I think chicken is just easier to pronounce.

These are actually some fitting names! XD Great "Pink Dino" Jaggi was a little bit of a major pain in the rear during it's hunt mission... but than after a few attempts on the mission, I found out hammers are wondrous weapons. @w@

I remember the very first time I saw the Great Jaggi on the demo, I was like, "WHY IS THIS PINK THING NOT DYING?!! *lance poke lance poke*" Funny how now with high rank weapons, the offline version dies in like 20 hits or less. XD I know some people have been trying to challenge themselves by stoning and kicking him to death with a team of four...oh the fun things you see online. A shame this game isn't as popular outside of Japan.
Hammers are indeed wondrous weapons! They turn everything into dinosaur pancakes!

I just got the game recently on my birthday, (Monster Hunter Tri = BEST GIFT EVER! XP) and I've only encountered the first three monsters and Lagiacrus so far, so here are their lovely nicknames I came up with! XD
Great Jaggi: The Big Bad
Qurupeco: Flintrock
Royal Ludroth: SpongeBooby
Lagiacrus: Nessie
I haven't really been on online, because my Wii doesn't have the right things to connect online. But from what I hear, Online is pretty cool to play! And I know what you mean, This game should be more popular in America, It's just too much fun! ^^

SpongeBooby, love that nickname! The poor guy always seems to get the short end of the stick when it comes to nicknames. I've seen people also call him things like "The Big Cheese" or "Bananas."
A shame your Wii doesn't do well with online functions! No wireless connection or just really bad internet? I have a friend who's Wii internet also sadly doesn't work well due to constant disconnections.

Oh yes, I love the game very much! -w- Cha-cha is pretty much my favorite character in the game! He's a pretty cool little guy! ^^
No wireless connection. I don't really know what to get nor how to hook it up to the internet. Trolls and hackers are to be expected since it's the internet and snobby MH elitists? Are they like Call of Duty Players? XD

Haha Cha Cha is adorable! Wait till you get him with his Felyne mask. KABOOM! Seriously, one time, right as I carted, he tossed a bomb at rathalos and then it was "Quest Complete!" No carves for me.
Ah, a shame then, you're really missing out on the best part of MH3! It's a real team-work kind of game! I guess you'd need some ethernet cables or something for the online to work then.
I actually have not heard anyone use the nickname SpongeBob! Usually they just call him luddy actually. Most nicknames I see are just shortened versions of the dinosaur, which is understandable. Also Spongebooby is funner to say than Spongebob. XD

Haha nice! Moby Dick, such a classic... a shame the latter half gets censored out. XD Why Satan for agna though? (aside from the volcano-ness) That seems like a nickname befitting of something more aggressive, and agna tends to fight rather indirectly. Cleft is so cute for the mini chin!

I just call him Satan because of he seems to hit me from under at just the right FREAKIN' moment when I try to heal, that I yell out and call him Satan. xD

The obvious being Lagi for the Lagiacrus, I think the only nicknames that come to mind are "bitch; whore, pain-in-the-ass" etc etc ;D

I always use skype for voice chats, so it usually consists of me and my hunting buddies swearing, sometimes fairly loudly late at night, down our microphones over skype. I recorded an hour's worth of hunting. The word 'fuck' was used something like 30+ times xD

Yep, I always have my laptop ready with me when I hunt too. ^_^ It's especially useful when someone disconnects.
But gaming does bring out the *best* in us doesn't it? XD Some conversations can just sound so inappropriate and we'd never say them outside of gaming. That doesn't change the fact that it's so fun though! What's hunting without a couple swears and innuendos thrown in? Our friends certainly don't mind. ^^

One example of this was fighting the Barroth with 3 others, and I got caught in a chain trample, and I just went "OHMYFUCKINGGOD YOU WHORE YOUR MOTHER SLEPT WITH A URAGAAN AND GAVE BIRTH TO YOU YOU WHOREBAG"

Actually my tablet lags a lot so the lines come out super horrendous. That's why I use my finger (maybe my laptop just has a good touchpad? XD)! But a finger is still a finger, so I really can't do a lot of details with it, only simple stuff. ^^
Gigginox is the fried egg. But I did sometimes call it a pancake. Yummy! Or I could always just say "that thing with the two butts," but I really didn't want to draw a dual-butted creature.

Hehehe yep chocolate rhino! It totally looks like a chocolate rhino in game does it not? I tried to make the rhino look more chocolate-like by adding the words in the middle of each "bar." XD
And indeed, all with a touchpad. Which is why some pieces are very swiggly. ^^
