- Wow. This looks beautiful. Nice seeing an antagonist portrayed from the FF series who is NOT Sephiroth or any of the main FF8 girls. The detail/lighting is perfect, especially the balance between the dark purple/red/black colors and the bright yellow/white colors. Beautiful work.

I'm absolutely shocked that this only has 10 favorites. I can't even put into words how beautiful this is...even though I'm not a huge FFVIII fan, I still love how this piece was put together. The colors are so vibrant and the lines are perfect...I doubt I could find anything wrong with this picture if I tried.

Although it's a small thing, I especially enjoy the little "ripple" in the lower right hand corner... as if the compression was peeking through boundaries and beginning to emerge into the world. Wonderful work!

don't hold back on the series, i'm looking forward to see how you re-interpret all these fallen characters.
:: my only qualm is the lack of balance between richer shadows and brightness on the main female character. there seems to be an uneasy compromise between the glare from above and the highlights upon her body - and the even darker shadows of which it would still cast.
:: it feels like the image is overall over exposed (too many dominant lighting sources?).

I was going to say, as well, that this perfectly shows the "Center of Chaos" theory I have about really powerful magic and magic users. It's like a hurricane, there's always a calm center of control. She's like that. Too cool.

Thank you very much for all of your wonderful comments on this piece. It did take a good while, though mostly because i wasn't working on it as consistantly as i could have been.
I'm also really happy to get your aspect of the piece, as your description really grabs what i was going after. My attempt at typing the description was, well..bah! *L* I'm glad that came through though, as i had really hoped above all else that her demeanor and perspective would be displayed in some way. I actually feared it a bit overboard, what with the amount of things going on all at once...though as you stated "Chaos".

I can see why that would worry you, there's a LOT going on in the picture ... but I think her entire pose, her calm demeanor ... it anchors the entire piece. She's the direct center of everything swirling about her. I love how the light glances off of her ... it's as if even that bends to her will. It shows who she is. I am looking at this again and I really love hte tattoo work. You do such gorgeous art.

The amount of time this must have taken you is impressive in and of itself. I really like the pose. It speaks of power, while the background emphasizes that feeling in the picture ... along with the colors. It's vibrant, yet dark. She has such a marvelous stance in this, as though she's enjoying the sensation of the world around her, yet she's not blown away by it. In particular, I like the glowing symbol and how it adds light to the picture.

A bit o constructive criticism could be because of redimensioning (?) but her feet look a bit undetailed by comparison, but then again what else could you add?

But yeah, i want to eventually get to doing some of the other FF characters outside of this specific series, though i'm not sure when. I'll be sure to keep your suggestions in mind though.
And i do agree on the pointing out of her feet. I was sorta at the same standstill, what with not having that much to add. I could have placed a bit more detailing and or decoration, though i thought the inside layer of her dress was already taking up quite a bit of attention space for the general area..so, yeah. *L* Thanks alot for voicing that one though. I may go back and do some touch-ups down the road.
