When I try it, it changed the INSIDE color instead of the line colorΒ Β Β

That just means you accidentally selected the inside color instead of the outline color in Step 3. I highly recommend zooming in a bit for that step to make sure you can get the outline color easily

This is a tutorial for how I do this. There are other tutorials for the eraser version available on the web that you can find with a quick google search, so I don't feel the need to make one

If you put the color of the pony in the first column (pink in this case) and the color you want in the second column (blue), and use the eraser, you can do it much easier than the fill bucket. Left click when you use the eraser though or it won't work!

I actually find this process much, much easier, because you essentially recolour the entire pony by deleting it and repasting it down which takes me around 2 seconds flat at most. But the eraser trick is another good one
