Your method doesn't work every time I use u\it. I find my way a bit better.

Are you sure you are following all the steps correctly? Once you know what you are doing this method takes like 5 seconds to do. But if you prefer the eraser method then that is cool too

This is what you do:
1. Put transparent selection on
2. If you use the eraser tool for it, get the first outline color, then the color you wish to use in the secondary color, right click your mouse, holding it and using the eraser, put your mouse over the outlined color of the pony, then it should just change that color, nothing else.
3. if using anything else, I suggest this:
1. Get transparent selection
2. get the outline color of the pony as the secondary color so that's transparent.
3. Get a rectangle, fill it in with the color you want, then use the move tool to move the pony, move it in the rectangle and it should show that the outline color of the pony is transparent, so the outline would be the color in the rectangle.
I hope you get it, it might be confusing but understand.

for all those who are having trouble, for the last step all you need to do is make a square bigger than your pony, change the color of the smaller color square, and move your pony on to the square with transparent selection on.
