Description
I decided to give Voo'Han an update to his overall design for two major reasons. The first was that I wanted to give him a design that was a bit easier to draw repeatedly in a comic, and while I loved his previous design, it was somewhat difficult to draw at times, especially his head. The other reason was to suit the lore and anatomy of his species. Varanians are large reptilian humanoids, as such I felt they needed to have features similar to that of their earth-based counterparts. Voo'Han's previous design, while cool, looked more like a dinosaur than a reptile, especially the ways his feet were built. So, taking these two reasons into consideration, I got to work on redesigning Voo'Han's appearance and this was the result. As you see, there are several notable changes, such as different skin color, lizard-like feet instead of his previous bird-like feet, as well as simpler armor design. Personally, I think this is a positive improvement, and will help make things easier when I'm drawing him repeatedly once he makes his debut in the comic.
