Description
This is a windows sound set with the voices of GLaDOS' curiosity core. Just click the download button and unrar.Portal is copyright Valve.
This sound set does not like windows Vista. The only thing I can possibly think of for a reason is that they're recorded in 32-bit mono and standard Vista sounds are recorded in 16-bit stereo. If you have Vista you'll need to either convert the wav to another acceptable format or you can download 7-Zip and extract the wav to whatever file you need.

You upload both the rar and the image and you should get an option that says change preview. You just make the image the preview. Sorry if that's a little vague. Just play around with the options and you'll figure it out.

Because I fail couls you explian what is meant by "You have to download 7-Zip. Then extract the 'music' to whatever file you want. It should work." I don't understand extract to whatever file.

I'm not really familiar with 7-zip, but if it's like winrar then there should be an extract option either in the file menu or a button at the top. Usually though I just open the file up, click on the contents, and drag them onto the desktop. I don't think that gives you the option to convert them or not.

Its all good now, I downloaded the trial of "Switch" which lets you convert files from your desktop. all I did is convert them from .WAV to .WAV and they worked.
If you want I can send you the converted soundset.

Found this sound set through fileplanet. I just attempted to put them in, but it appears that they dont work on vista as mentioned earlier. I died a little inside.

Yeah, I really am sorry about that. I wish someone knew what I have to do to fix it, cause I can't figure it out. Maybe try converting them to another format?

Just tested it one more time, and while the other ones dont work, it seems for some reason the exclamation file does. Does this file differ from the others in any way?

well last time i downloaded system sounds there were 2 folders. vista and xp. they were both in wav format. idk wat the difference was. i dont think its an ordinary wav file. ive tried to make sys sounds before. i made it wav (this is on XP) and i tried to put it as the sound. it accepted it but when i pressed play on the sys sounds chooser thing, no sound. same thing happened here

Huh, I'm sorry there isn't much I can do for you. I can try and find a tutorial for making Vista sound sets and see if maybe it's really a different sort of file or not. If it is and I can then I'll add a Vista folder and PM you, kay?
