So...
This was a late upload on my part, my apologies, but I was trying to gather what I was going to say.
In Undertale, we the player have control over what's going on, to an extent.
I went down the true pacifist and never reseted, never will.
And like most realize at the end, whether we choose Frisk to go with Toriel or wander off wherever.
We don't exist after that, the player that is.
And in a way, this is what this picture symbolizes for me. I changed the opacity on myself to reflect that.
Frisk gets to live on because they are not us and we are not them, but we do not go beyond that.
I love the characters and want nothing but their happiness though they are not real. I can't take it away from them to see them again and no matter what I'll miss them... Nor could I hurt them.
It's an ultimate sacrifice and not to be there with them hurts, but I'm happy in the end.
We briefly see their life in the end, but that's it. A farewell. Frisk gets to live happily with Toriel (because I chose that for them) and everyone else gets what they dreamed for (minus Flowey?).
However, we will never be a part of it again. I will never be part of it and I understand this.
I say if they are happy, I don't mind reflecting on it and being happy that I made them happy even when I don't matter in the end.
They have my support, even from the other side of reality.

Here are my thoughts on Undertale in particular and Sans <3 (bit of a read in description, hope you enjoy!)
I am...myself?
Do not steal me please.

I believed that when Frisk enters the Underground they totally loose their essence (?)
I don't know how to explain it, because WE (players) are Frisk, pacifist or neutral route. So we're there to help them.
We're like some "force" as Chara controling them. Genocide route is another story, tho.
But when they're out of the Underground, we stop being part of it... it feels really sad, but is good for saving them, right?
Independant to if they're just pixels, the game is so perfectly "emotional" built that you just feel that even if we're playing as Frisk, we feel like if we were Frisk. It's an amazing role-change game inside the actual game

I wouldn't say they lose their essence or else they wouldn't know who they are in the end when they give Asriel their own name, not the name we give them.
I do believe we possess them, though, like Chara. If not worse if we decide to go down the other route and make Frisk do that. Then they also get possessed by Chara who turns onon the player, so they are essentially lost then.
I don't believe we are Frisk, but we may have some influence on them.
And I agree with you entirely at that point. It feels good to save them. It is a great game and I will never forget it <3 .

They're just characters. Their "happiness" is fictional, along with their death. They are nothing but pixels on a screen.
Who's to say a genocide run could hurt what lacks feelings? c;

Sorry, you can do that then if that is what you believe.
I won't.
