A little speedpaint I did of my galactic black panther character Megatherion Ultima! I have done quite a few pieces of her in the past but looks like almost none of them ended up here on dA. Huh. Well, they should be somewhere on my Tumblr at least!

Anyway, Ultima is an enormous entity that is basically a living, sentient part of the universe. She (Ultima is genderless, but just like some gods have a gendered pronoun while being genderless, Ultima is referred to as 'she') can alter her size and change her density at will, but as her density changes certain forces come to play and cause all kinds of funny things to happen. She also eats stars, not sure why yet.

I just wanted to draw something fun and relaxing for myself and thought of this scene. I wanted to try to create an effect that makes it look like Ultima is lit from the inside, making a part of her skeleton visible. It was a lot of fun to work on and I think I got it just how I wanted it!

I do very little digital art that isn't actually commissions or fanart for some odd reasons. One is probably not so odd and has to do with the fact that I use a good chunk of my day sitting in front of a computer at work so doing the same at home doesn't feel very good. Another one is this strange idea that a digital piece should be more polished and should be something I spend more time on which is just bogus. So, I'm trying to get into a digital drawing habit for a change!
