Time for something different from me. Or at least something I don't normally post on deviantART for whatever reason. A musk ox I painted at an animal portrait course I took over the weekend.

I made two very different watercolour paintings of a musk ox, this is the first one. It's only A5 sized and much less detailed than the other painting. In this one I wanted to focus more on the impression of a cold, strong wind (hence the name "viima", which essentially means "strong, cold wind") ruffling through the ox's fur. I also wanted to study the fur, what kind of areas they create and what different types of fur there is on a musk ox's body. I really like how this one came out!
