Which inspired me and to follow suit
^^ I've had this application sheet finished for over a month now, but I get all fidgety and its hard for me to post things.

So I'm am forcefully, all at once it seems, confronting those fears.
So here goes~

A world divided by land and sea-governed by numerous clans with no single unified dictatorship.
Each race has a single roost or land that they have claimed as their own. There are very few travelers because of this as the world is divided souly by heritage. Many inhabitants have gone an entire lifetime without so much as encountering another clan. The territories are so diverse and segregated that very few would survive the voyage, and even fewer obtain safe passage through another’s lands.

Homeland:
Shor’end
A huge Cliff side precipice that has housed his people for generations; the SeaWings live in deeply embedded caves that their ancestors dug into the cliff walls. Each cave houses a single family, and is based on a hierarchy of altitude. The higher the family is from the shoreline, the higher their rank or status within the clan. The highest cave from the ocean houses the ruling family, and many of these higher caves branch into numerous enclosures, vs. the lower caves that normally have only a single room as to maintain the structural stability of the entire cliff side.

Personality:
Talen is a very spirited individual with a broad smile and a steady gaze. He interacts easily with others and presents himself in a confident light. Talen possess a deep seeded pride, both in himself and in his family-making him eager to overrule any individuals misconceptions of him or his kin. He is a magnificent listener, and remembers details quite acutely. While he speaks openly and divulges honestly he will not share life stories involving family matters. A continued prompt will earn the speaker a sharp and often permanent avoidance. Talen enjoys being active, and rarely sits still unless completely lost in thought. He is a naturally trusting individual, and he is rarely possessive as his past has shown him nothing has true permanence. He is a sharp learner and loves to push people outside their comfort zones or personality specks. He doesn't enjoy excessive angst, and will do anything to lift another's spirits when they are down on their themselves. Oft times this is accomplished by a sudden spark of energy before wrapping the individual’s hands about his neck and launching them abruptly into the skies. (Often times aginst their will).
Talen has little regard for personal space, and enjoys direct interaction with others. When under stress he reacts with a maturity beyond his years, a trait he likely emulated from his mother. He is often seen as a parental figure to those younger, and sometimes even older then himself.

Battle Prowess:
Extremely agile and quick on his feet, Talen can subdue most battles by simply outmaneuvering then exhausting his opponent. Even without full extension, Talens wings grant him a considerable lift, which he uses to stay aloft so his opponent cannot land a solid blow. Because of this, Talen is credited with a high defense when in reality he’s just too sporadic to track. His strong legs are a decent portion of his strategy, and he is a great defensive fighter as he can easily transport allies into and away from conflict. Although his hands are not powerful, his wings are, and he can easily stay aloft for numerous hours if avoiding you.

History:
Talens history is responsible for all the traits born with him that are contrary to his natural character.
As a child, his mother, father, and younger sister Mae all lived relatively high within the ranks of his clan. They were respected and loved with a genuine acceptance among their kin. Talen had very few discrepancies between himself and the other children, and was readily accepted as a big brother figure to the majority of the kids. As Talen quickly matured, a rift began to form between his parents, and to better handle the strain Talen began taking on tasks outside the home. He tried his hand as at bead work, preening, and other various tasks within the clan-but no accomplishment could subdue the tensions at home. One evening, on the precipice of the great seasonal storms, Talen awoke to his father calling after his mothers silhouette as she abandoned their home. Terrified he chased after her thrusting himself amidst the rainfall to bring her home. With all the passion he could muster he forced his wings to fully emerge well before their time, and was quickly beaten asunder and tossed to the waves below.

A great deal of time passed before Talen recovered and his wings withdrew, and when they finally did he found his family stationed at the bottom of the cliffs...
Choking on his emotions and pride a great resentment grew between himself and his father; and while his father grieved in silence, Talen worked in earnest, becoming a powerful fisherman to sustain his family in his father’s place. While he failed in all respects compared to the other fisherman, Talen was both determined and creative and quickly developed ways to bypass his physical shortcomings and fortify his strengths.

Over time his focus shifted from his problems at home to building a rapport among friends. As his interest changed, so too did his ambitions, and before long he wished for nothing more than to be seen as average among his peers. Determined, he developed numerous ways to hide his unique traits, as well as disguise his situations at home. He became very optimistic as a way to combat all the pity and privileges others granted him because of his history and physical differences. Meanwhile his sister Mae tried fervently to accompany her brother in every way possible, often chasing him along the rock sides while he was out with friends since she could not yet fly to keep up. Whenever Talen developed a new quirk, Mae would follow suit emulating her brother to the best of her abilities.

Soon the seasonal storms came again to the cliff sides, and the clan in accordance hunkered down until their passing.
During the weeks that followed, Mae never left Talens side. Singing, laughing and trailing him endlessly as she tried her best to keep up with his perpetual pacing. Angered by his sisters constant adoration Talen left the cave, easily braving the storm with his powerful wings. Mae watched her brothers form fading into the darkness, and smiling leapt to follow him. The ledge was slippery, and the waves were ravenous as her grin and cries were quickly silenced by the sea.

Mae survived, but at a heavy cost.
One Talen still refuses to accept even to this day.

Clan Life:
Though loved by his peers, Talen often mistakes their love as pity. The fact that his families past and present are known by all his people make him especially concerned with how others view him; he wants to be loved for who he is, not simply for what he has been through.
Concerns about his family are always at the back of his mind, as no SeaWing prior has ever abandoned their mate or family.
Talen also struggles with fitting in, as he differs considerably from the normal stature of the other SeaWing children. This is something nobody else seems to mind, though he is acutely aware of it.
Talen is a very poor swimmer, and creates alot of drag due to the shape and proportions of his broad wings. He cannot fish effectively like the other children by dive bombing fish beneath the surface, and thus does the majority of his fishing by skimming the surfaces in the early mornings.
