His scarf was battered and ruined...
He could no longer smell her fragile fragrance upon it, as the dust and decay circled around him closing her off completely.
He had lost both his hat and a glove amidst the skirmish, and he now sought them in earnest amidst the settling debris. Hunkered low in the stance of one submissive, his eyes darted about the room, as he drew tentatively toward the light’s piercing gaze.

A flicker of movement stole his focus, as his hands graced the cold stones of the crumbling wall.
A single sound split the silence, and another followed closely behind. Several more screeched in anger as they sailed through the open wall, wailing as they passed him.
Still cradling his remaining glove Francoeur drew himself upright, casting his massive shadow amidst the swirling darkness before him.
Another cry erupted in response to his movement, only this one was accompanied by an abrupt and piercing pain.

The gunman may have missed his target… but his bullet had found its mark.
Recovering slowly from the shock, Francoeur lifted a single hand to grasp the remaining frame, as the pieces fell through his fingers.
He inspected the remains of his mask, exposing himself fully to his pursuer.
All of these precious trinkets.. none of them would convince him, or anyone else of his humanity.
A strange heat stung his eyes, as tears stained his cheeks.

…Nothing would convince them now.
It had been fun,while it lasted.

Blegh.. Definitely not my favorite piece.
But I tried so here goes~

More symbolism with that scarf of his ^_^
I stated in my previous deviation that, 'During my searches I've noticed the vast majority of the movie art depicts Francoeur in hues of Red/Black whenever they are classifying him as a monster. Yet, in the video clips his tones are very soft, consisting almost souly of blues/whites.
I think this creates a magnificent contrast between how he appears to be, vs how he truly is.'
I drew him in the blue scarf this time, to show that his ties to humanity are tattered and fraying.
He's loosing himself amidst the two extremes essentially.

As for who's perusing him, go watch the trailer (if you don't already have it memorized ^^'')
