XD Ah, the conversations friendship brings up.
Anyway...
I actually do think that Snow White (Yukiko in this) and Sleeping Beauty (Rose) would be friends. They're closer, generation-wise, than really any of the other Princesses except for Cinderella and they've both been basically raised as peasants in lieu of Princesses (story slightly different in my AU, but fairly similar) with the threat of death hanging over their heads.
So I really do think they would be friends. Here's "Rose" being concerned about "Yukiko," who she's only just met at this point.
Also, something of note, all clothing and accessories in this except for Snow White's hairband actually exist in real life. Snow White's outfit is one of mine, and Sleeping Beauty's is my roommate's, Bluecastle. And I do have short, dark hair, while my roommie has shoulder-length wavy/curly blonde hair.
Go figure. XD

I agree that Snow White and Sleeping Beauty are about the same generation. I think Cinderella may be a couple hundred years later. I always thought that she and Belle from Beauty and the Beast were around the same generation.
Anyway, I think I'm done rambling.
This is a wonderful picture and it makes me wonder if there is a story that goes along with it? (I've been out of the loop for a couple of weeks.)

Yeah, there actually is a story. Right now I've been coming up with sketch ideas for an AU Disney Princess comic/fanfic. I don't know if I'll actually go through with it (since it seems like it's gonna be a LOT of work.
Especially as the idea for creating it was based on my frustration with some of the designs the fandom, and even the Disney company itself, has created (having worked at a Toy Store and seen the type of merchandise that is sold). Basically, thin characters are made thinner, buxom characters are made bigger, and no one is in-character with their real movie personality types. So I essentially wished to work with them on a level where the characters are allowed to be themselves.
Particularly as they are always stereotyped as "Princesses," yet most of them have been raised as regular girls and, in many ways, peasants. But with a more modern spin on the subject matter.
If you go to the file folder marked, "Disney," in my gallery you can see/read some of the pieces I've already posted, to get a general idea of how I've changed things.
