The Aegis is one of the oldest classes of warship that is still in service with the Clans, originally entering service in 2372 with the Terran Hegemony and then later the Star League. Despite fighting through the 'Age of War' the Reunification War and the Amaris Civil War, and everything that followed including the brutal Wars of Reaving. Despite all this, the class still serves today in 3150, their heavy autocannon's a threat to anything in space.
Here the CGS Corona Borealis is moving under full thrust either on patrol or moving to engage a hostile force.

Still surprised no shields or artificial gravity generators were created in battletech/mechwarrior univers.

I guess its because its a kind of hard-scifi, setting, of course ignoring the absurdly efficient engines and near magical armour

Doesn't every sci-fi universe do that?

Some folks did the math behind the battletech engines and they are like INSANELY efficient

How does weapons and armor compaired to some of the others universes? Only downside I see o the engines that takes few days to charge before able to jump, though I'm told there are some that charge quicker but is unsure.

Compared to say Star Trek or something the weapons of Battletech are fairly simple. The missiles are just that, scaled up versions of what we have today with explosive warheads on them. really the closest you'd get in terms of the weapons and combat style is more like how the Expanse does things. Except the ships are a lot tougher and better armed. But with the thrust based gravity, the lack of sheilds etc, thats all like the Expanse.

How well are there energy weapns conpaired to some of the other sci-fi franchises? Also the expanse? What's that?

Again, fairly simple, huge weapons for sure but they are lasers and particle cannons, which are nothing compared to the Star Trek stuff or Star Wars. And the Expanse is a TV show, a darn good one! www.youtube.com/watch?v=YS4vzo…
