When looking at a ship to accompany the Arbitration class Battleship the Clans looked to the successful if undergunned Congress class Frigate to serve as a basis for their next design. But unlike the Congress the new ship would be built to engage in frontal attacks, taking full advantage of the newest weapons developed by the Clans. To this end a pair of the new 'Reapers' or Repeating Naval Gauss Rifles would be mounted in the bow along with two clusters of three Naval Pulse Laser-55's. The lasers were placed in such a way that all six could fire directly ahead whilst also being able to adjust their mirrors and lasing tubes to fire on a broadside as well.

Supporting these heavy weapons would be a lesser battery of particle cannons and lasers along the broadside and rear quadrants, along with a heavy battery of Mech scale weapons including ER lasers, Hyper Assault Gauss rifles and clusters of ATM launchers (Advanced Tactical Missiles). These were combined with a heavy anti missile defence to provide protection as the ship advanced. Whilst bigger and heavier than a Congress the Onslaught would be faster and more agile. She also retained the dual dropship collars of the Congress as well as an organic fighter compliment.

Built as part of a joint effort over the Clan's new Capital world of Tukkayid the first ship the CHHS Onslaught entered service in 3110.

This is actually a headcanon design for use in Dragon Cat's Battletech universe
