Description General practice for cut away and such drawings, design is for a 9.144mm projectile (effectively .357) tied to a bottle-necked .45 ACP-equiv* case. Composite AP projectile is based on the Belgian Type II VBR AP projectile IIRC.

I swear I'll have something quasi interesting up eventually. -_-

*rear case dimensions (rim, wall, and such) are based on the 6.5x47mm Lapua cartridge trimmed down to 25mm and then die pressed to size.

i'm thinking it would work very well in a pistol caliber carbine, if you take advantage of a 16 inch barrel, like a kel tec sub 2000... if they ever decide to make one in 45.acp that is

question, will it fit in a 45.acp magazine?

Thought I remebered something about a cartridge similar to this.

I like it. The only downside is you are still limited to the same mag capacity as the same pistol in .45 ACP. On the up side, with the KRISS magazines and a Glock 21, you get 30 round magazines...oooh, even better, a Glock 21 pistol AND a KRISS chambered in this cartridge...I wonder what the muzzle velocity would be...time to go looking for dies...

Case dimensions .45ACP .... 1911 in .360?

Rim diameter is about a 1/10th of a millimeter smaller than a .45ACP cartridge, which depending on manufacturers tolerances would mean you would mostly need to change the barrel (obviously) and extractor(maybe)for proper function in a 1911. So yeah definitely doable,I believe. In a 1911 or 1911-style platform it would be sort of a Coonan .357's performance without the trade-offs needed to fit a .357 magnum strait walled, rimmed cartridge in the platform.

So does the sabot separate on impact or during flight?

It depends on if it strikes a soft or hard target. Against soft tissue it stays as a single piece, and tumbles where as when striking a hard target the penetrator continues without the wider sabot.

Though the English translation of a Dutch company website leaves much to be desired it does at least have the basic concept information.
