Yeah. The one thing that has bothered me with the CIS ships has been that they only looked half finnished or just half armored as if they had been rushed out of production so that they could be sent the frontline. Your alternate depictions of the munificent, and the recusant, side by side puts the missing pieces of the puzzle together.

Yeah my thought exactly, that's why I came up with this ideas, more CIS ships to come later on. ^^

Hello:

Β This is a question only out of curiosity: Would you do, in your style here, a version of the Munificent class with hangar bays?

1x Hyperwave jammer

36 x organic piloted starfighters or droid starfigters
18 x organic piloted starbombers or droid bombers
12 x landing craft/ shuttles

With the ongoing Clone Wars, the InterGalactic Banking Clan realized that their regular Munificent-class star frigates were often outflanked by Republics ships like the Acclamator-class and the Venator-class ship types early in the Clone Wars. This meant that the Banking Clan in the Northern Rim, the so called New Territories, as well as parts of the Slice, the Trailing Sectors and the Western Reaches, needed a new type of ship to oppose the Republic Navy. To be able to do so, some their original Munificent-class star frigates were partly modernized and partly newly build as the so called Munificent Class Star Carrier, build by Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc and Gwori Revolutionary Industries. Their original doking rings in the hull cross-pattern were replaced by a hangar, were 24 fighters, 12 bombers and 12 landing craft/ shuttles could be stored. As the hangar had openings and blast doors to each side, it would allow for a quick deployment of these forces in battle. A smaller secondary hangar for 12 fighters and 6 bombers was placed further at the front of the ship, much better shielded by it's upper armor from incoming enemy fire. However the region was to small to place the main hangar there without massively redesigning most of the interior and even the hull armor of the original Munificent-class star frigates that were used as a basis. The Banking Clan believed this to be to costly and to less cost-efficient and stopped any research in that area.

A additional separate, secondary command bridge was installed to control and coordinate the fighters and bombers, located at the End of the frontal, upper armor skeletal hull above the main hangar. It was rising diagonally from the superstructure, right between the armor hull plating at it's side. The tower contained a turbolift shaft that connected the various stations as well as the main hangar down below. Wide panorama windows were located on each level, providing good view of the surrounding area to coordinate the own fighters and bombers. Unfortunately this fighter and bomber bridge faced away from any enemy ship directly in front, so a holographic projector table helped to keep a view of the overall surrounding battlefield. Additionally for their own lack of more heavy ship-to-ship weapons the Munificent-class star carrier was equipped with more point-defense laser cannons and flack guns instead. The Munificent-class star carrier was supported with much stronger heavy shields, so that it could could withstand much more significant firepower until destruction. It's tensor fields and the inertial compensator that helped maintain the structural integrity of the vessel were also upgraded.

While remaining their main twin heavy turbolaser cannons and ion cannons for use against other capital ships, even from a longer range, most of the twin turbolaser turrets and the light turbolasers were replaced by point-defense laser cannons for anti-starfighter firepower and flak-guns to deal mainly with enemy fighters and bombers instead. Thanks to their new fighter and bomber squadrons, three to four Munificent-class star carriers were enough to deal with a Republic/ Imperial Venator-class or Victory-class, instead of the previous Six or Seven Munificent-class frigates. The Munificent-class star carriers with their high-performance sensors with a range of several light-days positioned on the dorsal side of the ship and forward scanner was situated on top of the vessel's command towers allowed them to sense enemy ships and fleets from far away and engage them even when they, themselves were not spotted yet. In exchange for this upgrades, the Munificent-class star carrier could only carry 100,000 instead of the 150,000 battle droids of the Munificent-class star frigates for ground operations, but was actually able to deploy them from orbit without landing itself. This allowed the Munificent-class star carrier to directly support planetary battles and invasions from space or orbit. It even could protect and support many hundred more droid starfighters within it's hollow hull structure. Constructed as a mainly military vessel by Horsch-Kessel Drive, Inc. and Gwori Revolutionary Industries, the Munificent-class star carrier lacked all but one single additional docking ring following right behind the hangar.

Thanks to the Munificent-class star carriers antennas, comm network, hyperwave transceivers and communications arrays, the Banking Clan Carrier as it was called could block Republic/ Imperial communication between their ships, fighters and bombers, making it hard to coordinate counter measures against Separatist Fleets it was a part of. As a part of the Confederate Navy, the Banking Clan supplied the Confederacy of Independent Systems with thousands of this ships. The ships' hulls bore the blue-and-white Confederate emblem and paint scheme, although many ships also bore both the green stripes of the Banking Clan and the Confederate colors. Munificent-class star carriers assisted the navigation and coordination of Confederacy fleets with their space battles and orbital invasions, even deep in enemy space. They also escorted and coordinated Separatist fleet actions and themselves ambushed, isolated and destroyed Galactic Republic/ Galactic EMpire ships and forces. The Confederacy also took advantage of the star carriers powerful antennae to broadcast anti-Republic propaganda while using its jamming devices to hinder enemy sensors, targeting systems and distress calls. Something that made them incredible dangerous and deadly against Republic/ Imperial ships and fleets when they were encountered. During the Clone Wars some of this Munificent-class star carriers were crewed with organic troops, even including pilots for special fighters and bombers, some even manned by mercenaries and space pirates allied to the Separatist Alliance.

Hello:

Β Yeah, I've read that information and that was extremely helpful and awesome as you have no idea , but my question was about a drawing like the ones you made here .

A drawing? Hmm, not sure about that. (mainly for time reasons at the moment as other prjects are planned and waiting too)

Ohh, oki doki, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask . It is in my plans to make a 3d odel of that version since I was the one who requested it to MarcusStarkiller.

It is part of a planned story, and since I am aking 3d models of some Star Wars ships, then why not?

Hello:

Β I wish the CIS was able to field these variants since thse armour plates surely proved to be very effective. I guess it would make the ship more costly though, but with better protections for the crews and the droid fighters, it would have been worthy. Well done for the cool ideas!

Β I would like to make my own someday, maybe a version with a proper hangar bay .

Hello:

Β You are welcome . I know what you mean, as I am cooking ideas for my own Star Wars-inspired story too, but time is always an issue, hehehe. Still, I wanted to make a 3d model of the Vulture Droid.

Nice work on these ships!
The Ultra Star Frigate is definitely the perfect frigate for the Separatists.
Its design, because it's no longer skeletal, makes it perfect for both droid and organic crews, alongside your Recusant-class heavy destroyer!
Wish they appear in the Clone Wars revival.

Thanks very muh for this comment. That was the main idea behind the design. It would also have a bit more internal space, armor and crew making it far superior to the former model.
