unlike the last ones, this upgradet variants however rely on improving the older sjip models, instead of building completely new ones. This served the purpose for the greedy Separatist Conglomerates to limit the costs of the new ships, with the limiting of the redesign by using as much of the original variations and construction methods for this newer, better ship as possible for them.

The Recusant-class light destroyer, also known as the Recusant-class support destroyer, commonly referred to as the Commerce Guild destroyer, and additionally known as the Separatist destroyer, was a starship used by the CIS Navy during the Clone Wars. The Recusant-class, like the vast majority of the Confederacy's warships, was largely controlled by automated droid brain technology. This proved to be a flaw, for the droid brain had a lower reaction time, which caused it to run into other ships often. However, little crew space was required. This gave the Commerce Guild light destroyer a sinister, skeletal appearance.
The Recusant-class destroyer was a light CIS warship armed with oversized guns, similar to the Munificent-class star frigate, and carried a heavy turbolaser cannon on its prow. Additional weapons consisted of four heavy turbolasers, six heavy turbolaser turrets, five turbolaser cannons, thirty dual laser cannons, twelve dual light laser cannons, and sixty point-defense cannons. Should the main shields be destroyed during battle, the interior hull can be vulnerable to severe damage. The vessel had three isolated thrusters positioned at the stern, remotely connected to the ship's main reactor, which was located inside the main superstructure.
The stock Recusant was not equipped with hangars for ground based forces, but carried about 40,000 Battle Droids for boarding actions. The Recusant-class could also carry droid starfighters for fleet engagements in hollow spaces inside the ship.
The Recusant-class's forward command center protruded from the forward part of the superstructure, in a manner similar to the Providence-class carrier/destroyer. The Recusant-class itself was based on technical schematics stolen from the Mon Calamari by Quarren Separatists. It was mass-produced by zealous workers led by Techno Union Foremen, using materials from many Commerce Guild worlds. The Commerce Guild destroyer was manufactured by Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc. and Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps. This class was fielded from early on in the Clone Wars. They were donated to the Separatist cause by hundreds of star sectors eager to defend their independence. During the war, large numbers of this vessel were built, destroyed in battle, and replaced. Recusants were often used to carry out raids on Republic commercial shipping, though prey in large number sometimes proved deadly.
Commerce Guild destroyers were most effective when deployed in large numbers, like most Confederate military units. Four to six Commerce Guild destroyers could easily defeat a RepublicVenator-class or Victory-class Star Destroyer. However, a thousand regular Recusants were needed to successfully engage a Kuat Drive Yards Mandator II-class Star Dreadnaught. During the height of the Clone Wars, it was unusual to see the class deployed in groups of less than four ships. A major flaw of the class was its stubbornness in battle. A Recusant would continue to attack a chosen target until it was destroyed or disabled, and ignore other enemy units during this process. The Recusant-class destroyers were employed by General Grievous in battles near the Arda system, at Saleucami and at Kamino. Recusants were used extensively in the Battle of Coruscant, where they engaged similarly large numbers of Venators. One Recusant was seen colliding with a friendly Munificent. They also formed the defense line that protected the CIS flagship Invisible Hand.
Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc-Recusant-class medium destroyer
Class: Medium Destroyer

Crew: 350 / 60,000 deactivated battle droids

Width : 157 meters
Height: 203 meters

6x Heavy turbolaser cannon
8x Heavy turbolaser turret
7x Turbolaser cannon
45x Dual laser cannon
18x Dual light laser cannon
90x Point-defense laser cannon
The Recusant-class medium destroyer was the next evolution of the Recusant-class light destroyer made by the Commerce Guild, as the Clone Wars continued. It already had lost it's skeletal appearance thanks to a extended, stronger hull. This allowed the Recusant-class medium destroyer to keep up with the stronger Republican and later Imperial ships that he had to battle, because he now could withstand more enemy fire, carry more weapons, Battle Droids and own fighters/bombers itself. Additionally it now had a much better structural integrity then the normal Recusant-class light destroyer. It's now increased stability and better hull armor made the Recusant-class medium destroyer a feared encounter for the Republic Navy. Just like the Munificent-class Star Frigate before, the normal Recusant-class light destroyer could be updated into a Recusant-class medium destroyer. This made it cheaper and allowed the Recusant-class medium destroyer to become one of the major backbones for the Commerce Guild and the Confederate Navy.
Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc-Recusant-class heavy destroyer
Class: Heavy Destroyer

Crew: 400 / 80,000 deactivated battle droids
Length: 1.187 meters
Width : 157 meters

12x Heavy turbolaser turret
10x Turbolaser cannon

24x Dual light laser cannon
120x Point-defense laser cannon
Later during the Clone Wars the Commerce Guild and the Techno Union upgraded the Recusant-class medium destroyer once more into the Recusant-class heavy destroyer. The hull was once more expended and extended and the ship itself became more storage room inside. The once skeletal look was totally gone, the hull integrity massively improved. Additionally the Recusant-class heavy destroyer also got two own hangars at it's side now to carry it's own fighters and bombers, additionally to those who could already dock on it's massive expended hull. These hangars were also big enough to carry one C-9979 landing craft each.

Looks like a nice idea, I like it. The heavy destroyer might even be a better flagship than the providence, especially if it's the dreadnought variant.

That might be true, not sure if there could be a more fitting Povidence variation once I finished a few different types of that ship ;D

Also with your permission, I'd like to be able to create some concept art or even a 3D model. I'd love to see this ship come to life.

I'm pretty sure, it's a heavy destroyer so it's hull and shielding should be greatly improved upon and if fitted with a good amount of weapons it could take on an Imperial I or even an Imperial II if it got fitted with that era's weapons, you know ion cannons, proton torpedoes, Heavy Turbo, Prow Heavy Turbo Lasers Cannons, and thanks to your improvements we can keep the light laser cannons and the point defense cannons. Of course it will be expensive (which is why the CIS probably don't plan on using this.), but as a heavily modified flagship, I'd love to have this ship more than any other though.
