Description
Sorry for the big combined imageThis is a new take on my 'Heavy Rifle' model that I posted some time ago.
The old one was for an intermediate modeling class under time constraint. This one is post advanced modeling classes, and there are no time constraints, hence much more life to it.
Itβs still in progress, so feel free to crit it up and I'll make the needed fixes.
*Update*
Got most of the equip done. I have iron sights, dot sights, scope, horizontal grips, vertical grip, (semi)silencer, flash light, and IR laser. I can only think of top and bottom mounted grenade launchers being left to do, any other ideas?
I also got the sniper variant done. The top front quarter is swapped out, the sniper variant drops the rails for an integrated scope, night vision, infra red, targeting laser, and audio surveillance. All capable of output to external devices.
Fixing the tampon bullets is in the agenda. Other than all that this project is coming to a close. woot.

Scope isn't mandatory, it works as a sniper but it's true purpose is anti-PowerArmor, any sight that would allow video feed to a soldiers helm works if you want to make changes.
Are you ok with me saving your conversions to recycle for design update ideas? aka use your work.

Knowing more now, the projectile is very much like 50bmg (just a future, better balistics version) and the propelant would be more efficient, so the casing is narrower and some shorter.
So think between Beowulf and bmg, but more like the bmg's penetrating power at carbine range.

Glad to know your well aquanted with tampons
I wont say your wrong, they look like lip stick to me. I need to sharpen the tips on them and make the brass casings stand out more, then they might look like actual bullets.

Looks great, but I don't think a .50 cal assault rifle would be very efficient.

Yea, the idea is a bit out there, but Im not going for modern day practical either.
Nice weapon models by the way.

Hi,stumbled on your gallery and have not got up since for the sheer talent on show here. One question though, what 3d software pack are you using here and is it any good for beginners?Cheers.

I use Maya, I don't know of any 3D apps that are beginner friendly, maybe google sketchup, but I've never tried that one. The usually have a huge first hump to get over, then it's easier to learn stuff from there.
