Description
Five bajillion people have asked me how to properly install and use Plugins on UTAU. So, despite how there's probably other tutorials on this (I'm too lazy to search), I decided to piece one together because I'm too lazy to do a video on it.Sorry you all have to suffer through my handwriting. Why I didn't type the things is beyond me.
Like I say in it, try to figure out what went wrong if it isn't showing up/it isn't performing its function, and if nothing works THEN ask me and I'll try to help you work it out. Also, please please PLEASE tell me if I forgot something or said something wrong in this tutorial.
Hope this helps people!
ALSO. Since I know people will ask about it, here's where you can get the Romaji to Hiragana plugin: utaforum.net/thread-romaji-to-…
UTAU Plugin Directory is here (All Japanese site; just scroll down to the table): www20.atwiki.jp/utaou/pages/36…
I'm having trouble finding the thread on UTAforum that explains the useful ones. Feel free to dig around for tips, plugins, how-tos, and stuff on these UTAforum boards: utaforum.net/board-software-pl… utaforum.net/board-tutorials-r…
IF YOU'RE USING A 4.0 OR LATER VERSION OF UTAU: To get plugins to work you need to go to Tools > Options > Others and check the box next to "Output..." and make sure the box below says "(All)".
NOTE that some plugins may not work without Japanese local or AppLocale. Many rely on Japanese inside .txt files, which turns to gibberish without the locale change, so I am unsure what will work and what won't.
UTAU (c) Ameya
Plugins (c) Creators (I don't remember who made the CV to VCV and Romaji to Hiragana plugins...)

Huh? Depending on the plugin, Japanese Locale IS necessary to run them. I'm pretty sure. I've never not had it, but I think I tried it on one without and it didn't work. But if you're sure...
Anyways, did you go down and click Reload on the plugins drop-down menu? You made sure you followed all the steps as I directed? If not, hmmm...I'll think of some stuff to ask you to screenshot I guess...

Sorry for taking so long to reply! DX Anyways, those plugins are for editing USTs on Mode 1 - as you can guess, they're hard to use, and even I don't know how to use them. Hanakago is a HANASU tool, again complicated.

P.S - Plugins will not work when using the M4 engine.

Ah, thank you! Didn't know that at all. (But wait, isn't M4 a resampler? why does it matter if M4 is selected to change the notes from CV to VCV and such? Sorry, I just don't get it since I don't have it.)

Skeyi In reply to shinamiEBA [2011-11-21 22:49:06 +0000 UTC]
Yep, M4 is a resampler, and it comes with resampler11.dll so maybe that's the reason why?
I don't remember quite exactly, but when I started to beta-test the M4, I pretty much replaced almost everything in the UTAU folder [in program files].
I've upgraded the plugins / etc and they aren't compatible yet.

Hmmm....well, no one else has mentioned that anywhere, so for now I won't mention it up top, but if someone else brings it up on UTAforum, here, etc, I'll be sure to put that on.

Woah woah woahhhh
oh gosh, your version of UTAU is so much ..ah, more translated than mine. XD; I'm guessing you didn't use the Wiki one? that or they updated with a new one
And ahh, a roma-to-kana plugin that doesn't need me to physically move usts oh gosh. ;; I am so happyyyy eeee. *has been using Aster's*

shinamiEBA In reply to PandaLolii [2011-11-21 22:21:59 +0000 UTC]
The one on UTAU Wiki is really outdated. On UTAforum there's now a page dedicaed to UTAU and OREMO translation patches, so take your pick. =w=b [link]
I knoooooooow and plus you can easily reverse engineer it to also do Hiragana to Romaji by playing with the files, so it's love. And great for people the Toolkit doesn't work with.

can you send me the link?

Ah, most of my plugins have to do with Mode 1 editing and I have no clue how to use them, and thusly they aren't useful. The most useful I'd say are the CV to VCV and such ones, Hanakago, Romaji to Hiragana, and Copy Paste, all of which an be found by searching on UTAforum. :3 *Is too lazy to search for them right now, basically*

...Are you refering to UTAU or the plugins? In both cases, they're free. UTAU is a shareware, meaning free unless you purposely want to pay Ameya for extra rights and to contribute to upkeeping.

You mean Hanakago? Yeah, if you do it right. I'm guessing you've looked over the thread at UTAforum? [link] I've found it only works with hiragana, not even katakana or kanji. ...I dunno, it's been ages since I used it.
And thanks~! ; u ; /

Here, in this thread: [link]
Just linking the thread because apparently it's really easy to reverse engineer it to also do Hiragana to Romaji. :3
