In referral to your last comment on the tutorial - nobody can accuse you of making 'errors' in the way you draw. It's your technique, no one can tell you you're doing it wrong. Anyway, more to the point, it's a great tutorial. The only thing I would add, if I were doing this, would be to make stick figures of the pose. That way, you've got a better idea of what exactly you're going to draw.

shingworks In reply to KristieConspiracy [2010-06-20 15:20:56 +0000 UTC]

Its actually very possible to make errors! I think its one of the great misconceptions that "everything is right" when it comes to art... not to say that abstractions or personal style do not come into play, but you need to have a strong understanding of reality in order to distort it. Despite having my own techniques and styles I still need to go back and correct myself because I make errors all of the time

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KristieConspiracy In reply to shingworks [2010-06-21 08:43:26 +0000 UTC]

You can't go wrong with art, you can't go right. Everybody's different, and so is their work.

If you go into technicalities, then it could be that they're only 'errors' in your eyes, unless they're incredibly obvious. Someone else could look at something that you deemed horrid and go 'Oh, how awesome does this look??'
...
It's happened to me before.

shingworks In reply to SwampFoxTheThird [2010-06-10 19:17:56 +0000 UTC]

WHAAAAaaaa you must not know me so well XD AtLA was basically my love/life for 2005-2008. I still love it of course but the movie is sort of putting a damper on my enthusiasm. Did you hear about the new animated series they're doing?? I'm so exicted.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SwampFoxTheThird In reply to shingworks [2010-06-10 19:44:26 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, basically I just checked out your tutorials thanks to a journal feature.....
Anyway, yeah, I'm pretty much freaking obsessed with it. The movie looks very iffy, but at least the waterbending looks cooooooool.....
HECK YEAH!
Avatar: The Legend of Korra.

My money's on the first avatar, watertribe gal.
How bout you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

shingworks In reply to SwampFoxTheThird [2010-06-10 19:48:43 +0000 UTC]

Definitely sounds like a water tribe name to me! I hadn't thought about who though... ooh, I hope it is the first airbender though, that would be so awesome. And if it does take place in the past, maybe we get to see the Air Nomads fight at a team and all that stuff we didn't get to see since they were gone for the original series. Now I'm all excited again XD XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SwampFoxTheThird In reply to shingworks [2010-06-12 17:03:37 +0000 UTC]

You mean the first avatar? Or you mean you would like it to be about the first airbender, but it looks like a watertribe name instead? Yeah, a lot of people are really excited about seeing some airnomad action. I think Bryke said it was either gonna be 100 years in the future or 1000 years in the past. Something like that. I'm hoping for the past.

The bummer part is, it won't actually air for... forever.
