Description
This is my submission for our latest pack inDont you hate when planets get in the way? Youd think theyd be better at dodging.
Anyway, this was made in photoshop 7.0, and the asteroids were rendered, textured, massaged, and loved in 3dsmax.
I know how much you guys like it when things blow up, so here you go. Loveable chaos.

you used photos for the texture on the asteroids or something? it looks extremely realistic and detailed.
The explosion is great and is just a beautiful effect. One thing that bothers me is the lens-flare kind of ring on the right. It's not that it doesn't make it look realistic but I just have a thing against lens flares
The nebula is also very well done, not to much like most other space scenes but it's still there. Lovely asteroid formations. This bad boy is gonna be my wallpaper

I'm just a bit curious tho... what exactly did you do using Photoshop? I'm absolutely astounded at the detail! did the detail come from 3Dsmax or from Photoshop? Wow! I mean wow! I mean WOW!

use of textures, stock images, brushing, painting. all that stuff together.
the 3dsmax part was an experiment, and was the first time I actually got soemthing good out of that program.
