Pwah! Shiro DOES love her fans! Power to the Shiro! >o< Of course, you have no binding need to share your Shiro-ness with us. =3 The Shiro-ness belongs to Shiro and can stay with Shiro if Shiro wants. ^^ (I now see why pronouns were created o_o)

Very helpful, it must take so much patience to do all that lineart!
I have got to teach myself how to do that..
All in all, a very nice tutorial.

how do you get OC4 to use the old pen menu-thingy? I don't like the new one, but it won't let me use the old style for whatever reason :/ And the pressure sensitivity doesn't work with my wacom either... that might just be becuase mine is an ooooold graphire 2 (but its my baby~~~)

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

shirotsuki In reply to korva-chan [2006-06-06 02:49:01 +0000 UTC]

yah, grapphires wont do like the intous do ; ;. im sorry.. but i can help you with the former pen window problem. all you need to do is double click it, and it should activate! it is in the same window as the other menus, isn't it? if not, then you should be able to access it from the window dropdown or something. lemme know if it works!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

korva-chan In reply to shirotsuki [2006-06-06 08:45:33 +0000 UTC]

yay, thankyou!!!

I need to invest in an intuos, considering my graphire2 pen is nearly in two different peices (thank god for ducktape!). I'm just a bit too poor to get me one yet :/

shirotsuki In reply to korva-chan [2006-06-06 13:24:44 +0000 UTC]

tooootally cookie jar for one ; ;. its so worth it! even if you just spring for the intous 1, theyre all amazing! and i hear ya on the duct tape.. my last tablet was held together with cardboard and duct tape XD. franken-tablet!

So you don't really ink? You just put your "inking layer" on there twice and it comes out bold! ^^ YAY!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I shall try it!:favlove:

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

shirotsuki In reply to astarael22 [2006-06-06 02:48:04 +0000 UTC]

er, no, i do ink ^ ^, in a manner of speaking. i retrace my lines, but it's all very, very light. so yeah, you got it!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

astarael22 In reply to shirotsuki [2006-06-06 03:04:06 +0000 UTC]

YEA! ^^
This makes me happy!

Where can you get OpenCanvas? I know you can download a freetrial, but can you just get it at OfficeMax or something? Or can you just re-trace in Photoshop?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

shirotsuki In reply to astarael22 [2006-06-06 13:22:25 +0000 UTC]

retracing in photoshop is possible, but open canvas handles better in my opinion. and you can download open canvas at portalgraphics.net/en , i think.. if that one doesnt work, you can find a proper link in the description ^ ^~!

YAY! *goes to practice*
I SHALL MAKE SOMETHING SOON! And I'll show you and you'll be like..."...wtf? o.O" And I'll be like.."YAAAAAAAAAY Stare at the glory that is this piece of crap that I maaaaaade!" ^^
Well, its just that I think your style is so cool! I know its corny, but it makes me want to learn more.

shilin In reply to ??? [2006-06-06 00:54:54 +0000 UTC]

shiro: drag the lineart layer to the "new layer" button on the layer window and it'll duplicate itself! (and multiply to quadrillions in population thereafter)

I love your lines *_*

I always wondered how you managed to get those delicate lines... I hate that I usually use such bold lines. Time to experiment around with your technique and adapt accordingly.

*gasps* OMG, Whyrly, you're actually doing a tutorial?! *looks around frantically* Clearly the world is ending!

Hehehe. Jus' kidding. I like it. And now I know why your lines look so soft and pretty, you blur them! Alas, I don't think I could ever do that with my inks... if things aren't crisp and contrasty I got all crazy.

Looking forward to the next bit, woo!

ahari-chan In reply to ??? [2006-06-06 00:35:38 +0000 UTC]

yayay ;;;; I hope you continue on with this!

oh oh ! you said in photoshop you copy/paste your lineart layer to make it darker, and then you have to adjust it- instead, if you rightclick on your layer, there's an option called "duplicate layer" that'll do the same thing and you wont have to adjust it !

..I hope we get to see the finished picture of this ;;;;

Thanks a lot for the nice tutorial shirotsuki-sama XD ^^, +faved already! Hope to use it as soon as I can, since I can't right now because of this stupid vestibular รฒ.รณ (it's kind of an uneversity entry exam in Brazil, and it's really hard, I couldn't pass it last year because my drawing wasn't good enough and the course I'm trying to get in requires a drawing test, so this year I'm studing more academic art and doing less manga art, wich is not bad actually, its just that this and the studing for the normal subjects, [like math physics, history and others...] is taking all of my time away ยฌยฌ ) thx again!
