pippi longstockings turn 60 this year, so i wanted to celebrate her with some fan-art.pippi is the creation of one of the 20th century´s best writers ASTRID LINDGREN. pippi is the saviour of all girls, she´s here to save us from the fluffy-pink barbie hell little girls are exposed to, and she´s an inspiration to ALL (boys and girls) showing us we can be naughty and cause mayhem without being nasty and evil!!!
those of you not aquainted with astrid lindgren or with pippi,-get a MOVE on
also check out the original pippi illustrator INGRID VAGN-NYMANN. my pippi looks like something made by a southpawed, blind man next to her awesome illustrations!!!

i was pippi longstocking for halloween one year, but the wires in my braids cut into my head and made my hair bleed. good thing it was already red!!

OMG! I used to watch Pippi all the time when I was a kid. I never read the books, didn't know they were books, but always saw the movies/shows when they were. I would have killed to have red hair and pigtails like hers! Your illustration is great.

Got to admit, Pippi Longstockings is a name it seems I've always known but I know nothing about the actual character.
Anyway, I've googled her and looked at the results and she seems like an interesting character. I like your illustration of her. It's very stylised but it still has a cheeky charm about it which I kind of got from looking at the originals.

hey, the hotel must be villa villekulla,- pippi´s house! there´s a whole pippi-land in the south of sweden.
kids in scandinavia grow up on a steady diet of astrid lindgren. all of her characters are non-conformist. pippi is probably the most colourful.
