Description
So. It occurred to me that my horses were getting kinda stylized a week or so ago, so I drew myself up a guide to refer to whenever I think a leg is attached in the wrong place, or the withers are too far forward, or whatever. And I thought you guys might appreciate a look at the stuff I need to remind myself of. This is just a warmblood standing mostly square, but most of this should hold true to many horse builds. Hopefully. This is remarkably cleaned up compared to how it was, for clarity. My terrible handwriting I will type out here for you, in no particular order, but I'll try to go left to right.
---
Tail bone goes down to this connection
Entire butt section should be larger than shoulder section
Triangles??? (referring to hock joint)
Knee?
Croup lines up with sheath point (on male horses for me, refer to vertical line)
Try to keep croup level with withers (I don't like uphill or downhill horses personally)
MUSCLE
Muscle outlines cervical vertebrae (for me, that gives me a good idea of where the bones are-- where that nice ridge of muscle is)
MOAR muscle (these stick out to me)
Ideally cannon bones are straight down, then 45-50 degree angle for pastern, hooves parallel (hooves being parallel to that pastern line)
start head with cross

Hope you all appreciate it.

Idk why but I find this so visually pleasing! The combination of clean and sketchy lines just gets me. And it's helpful too
