As simple as that is, it took a while to get it right as the glass would create as much shadow as the doors - the lighting would be way too bright or way too dark, and I wanted different amounts of shadowing based on the locations of the lights.. I mostly did this to learn more about 'how' lighting worked in Blender...

And I hadn't looked back at this myself until I decided to make the poll....

Typically programs aren't what causes crashes... it can't happen again though, (even if I have an XP computer running) as I have a firewall on the modem, the router, and the computer, and all computers in the house are now BIOS locked (ie it takes a password to change any BIOS settings)

Well, my wife has a WinXP Pro computer (for school work), then there is my youngest daughters Kubuntu Linux, my oldest daughters Kubuntu Linux (not currently running correctly {hardware issues - ie possibly bad HDD}), and finally there is a WinME computer that needs some serious 'clean up' as it's probably the worst files system I've ran across in my life...(not online at the moment cause I'm lazy and haven't put the wireless card into it yet...)

My wifes XP computer is working (very barebones XP Pro with a massive firewall/virus scanner and BIOS lock)

My oldest daughters computer is the one with the issues, as it has something not right about recognizing it's HDD... but only sometimes.... and sometimes while it's up and running....

SiathLinux In reply to darkKiell [2008-01-17 02:57:29 +0000 UTC]

No, unfortunately it tends to only run for a few minutes after starting any applications - if I leave on the desktop or just browse the file structure it last about 20 minutes before it starts acting strange.

Markopolio and I are already discussing how to create a very concise set downloadable PDF book on Blender (of course I'll have to finish learning all of the 'ins and outs' of Blender to finish it - but I think we can work out a good 1st edition in a few months time.)
