Description
The original post [link] was filtered in PS. But the lens effects didn´t convince, I guess. Here is the raw render.
Which one is better? Any further suggestions?

Looks better than the other version But I still think there's too little contrast. The ball and the background has so similar colors that it kinda blends into eachother.

I created a more contrasted version. Gonna submit it later. But I am not so sure about the whole scene any longer. I am rendering a lawn version now.

I think you should just lessen the effect on the ball. The ground is "strange" enough to warrant some blurring/distorting, but the crispness of the ball lends to the realism. It's too softened in the previous deviation and all the little details smudge together, making it look more... fake.

There´s no effect on the ball on this one. THat´s why the title says no FX. It´s the raw render.
I think, I will rerender this one with another type of ground.
Thought of lawn, but I didn´t decide yet

I didn't think there was, just that diluting the focus strains believability. Although I'm curious if the reflective surface is just an inherent property of the ball?

I think so. It´s leather. Maybe a little bit too new. But still plausible, I would say. Let´s pretend it was used on wet lawn before

Oh, definitely plausible, I just don't how 3D works when it comes to stuff like that. Trying to get into Blender- so far, I've figured out how to rotate the cube three dimensionally, which I admit is super neat.

yes it is, but I guess we all started like that.
The most important thimg is, not to be afraid of new functions.
Most things about 3D look much more complicated than they really are.

At first i thought it was photography, you're making things so real you are fooling me.
Liked this version more actually

Thank you. Glad you like my work
There will be some more version coming up. I am working on it.

Thought so. To be honest, I dont really like it myself very much. I think the displacement turned out way too heavy.
I am working on a grass version.

I like this one much better. I love the look of the ball, but ground is a bit... off...
If you added some grass that could make for a really nice picture. Right now it almost seems like the soccer ball is on another planet!

That´s right. It mostly because of the displacement. I think, I´ve set it too heavy.
I am rendering a grass version right now.

better but what are the green specks in the ground? they throw it for me a little but overall it's better without the PS effects

It´s the texture of an old backyard, where some plants are breaking through the conctrete. Didn´t turn out very well, I guess. I am rendering a grass version at the moment
