I wanted to make a comic that looks really destroyed and nasty. Like it was found in a train station bathroom sitting in a puddle in a corner next to the trash.I also haven't done anything dirty and bloody in a long while and need to fill that void.

I think they would have a hard time getting past the whole "cannibalism" thing and attacking people in mobs. They would have to give that up to be taken seriously.

This piece is a dirty, grimy, sleazy, putrid, disgusting, nasty piece of pulp....and I F**kin' LOVE it!! You got a flair for this. I'm looking for a similar style tothe comic book Lucio Fulci's Zombie...coming out later this year. Keep up the good work! Great stuff.

I actually saw some of your work with the Devil's Rejects DVD a few years back. It's always cool to discover that the artist is a genuine genre fan as well. Right now I'm set to release Lucio Fulci's Zombie and Gates of Hell as seperate comic book series' for spring/summer of 2009. The publisher is almost nailed down and I'm finishing up my work on it now. There's a few things we might be able to collaborate on if you want in on the project in some capacity. It would be a blast to work with you.

Hey good to hear from you again.
I believe you n' Steve Romano did some work together on Shock Festival a while back, yes?
ZOMBIE is one of the two books we've worked on (steve and I) together, the other being The Gates of Hell, also by Fulci. I'm finishing that one up as we speak. When we originally set out to do the books it was renegade style, but now we've persued the rights legit and are going forward with a national publication through IDW. I've owned my own indi publishing company for a while, Xmachina, but this will be my first broad release book.
We were looking for colorists for the series as my heart is very close to these . I've been digging on your work for a while now and would love to work with you either now or down the road in some capacity. I believe you mentioned that you were too super-busy to commit to an entire 3-book series but you are more than welcome to be a part of the book if you so choose. We're hoping to get it out in the fall.

Once again, amazing work. I love the style you used for this one--it reminds me a lot of Ben Templesmith's art. And I love that style--so grungy and simple, yet enjoyable and graphic.

Where do you find all the distressed and torn edges for backgrounds? Do you create those? And if so, how?

Most of them I find online or scan old books I got. Nothing really tricky or special.
