Happy Rainbow Dash Day!

So yes, this is my submission for this year's Rainbow Dash day It's been a fair while since my last drawing, and it definitely feels good to get to drawing some ponies again. I've submitted for the last few Rainbow Dash days, so I felt it was a good excuse to get myself back drawing, haha. Got it in on time as well too, so that's good!

So yeah! A simple cute Dash pose of her about to take off. Originally I wanted to try capture some cool head-on angle, but I wasn't quite sure exactly about how I could make it work ... and I decided it was probably best to draw a pose that's a bit more familiar since I hadn't drawn in a while. And I think it came out pretty good in the end! It's always nice to know you can still draw any time you have a long-ish break, haha.

Also originally I was planning on smooth shading the drawing—I've been wanting to try practice shading for a while—then I decided against it after deciding I just liked the cartoon look, before deciding to go with the cel shading approach once again, haha. It is a shading aproach I'm quite fond off, and it kepts the cartoon-y feel. And I think I'm getting better at it too. Hopefully it'll translate to smooth shading too, haha.

But anyhoof, looking forward to seeing all the other art for Rainbow Dash day as well!
