first collab with SurelyEquine ! I love how this turned out and am so glad our characters could meet out on the trail, thank you for doing this with me! I had a lot of fun with this one <3
I did the sketch, lines, and flats, and SurelyEquine did the beautiful shading and background!

While Eli and Villach continued along through Obertauern at a leisurely pace, the sun gradually beginning to sink lower in the sky, a rider began to catch up to the pair on the trail. Eli and Villach had been travelling solo since they began phase 2, splitting off from Sam and Wyatt’s teams. It wasn’t that uncommon to encounter other riders during this event, despite how spread out they could get on the trail. Hearing muffled steps behind them, Eli turned around to see who it was.

A vibrant red mare, strikingly similar in appearance to Villach, and her rider approached Eli and Villach, and he noticed the Canadian flag on the sleeve of the rider. Eli squinted. Both horse and rider looked familiar, but he couldn’t quite place where he knew them. As they drew closer and both of their appearances became clearer, Eli recognized the pair as Erica and Vilya, and waved his hat in greeting. Villach turned his attention towards them too, nickering in greeting, recognizing the mare as his daughter.

Eli had met Erica from when she had inquired to him about a breeding slot to Villach. It was so nice to see familiar faces out on the trail, and to see how Vilya had grown and progressed with her training!
