Apophysis205beta2zplus_cplus_r5.241, ApoMap and PSP 9Also Flipped Disc Tutorial by Joel Faber [link]
I'm a bit slow at getting round to trying things so this is my first real attempt at this tutorial. If anyone can suggest how to reduce the fuzzy areas I'd be very grateful.

I always fail at tutorials for some reason. I guess I just can't help myself from pressing random buttons.

Well done with the Flipped Disc Tutorial - it baffles me - and I don't see fuzzy either!

Thank you, the fuzzy bits are round the inside edges and the ends of the large arms. I fiddled for ages with weights and minute adjustments to size but couldn't shift them. Never mind, it's a good excuse to carry on tweaking

It's high time that I devote some time for a tutorial. I quickly played with the one from :devreamed: for the "oily" effect but not long enough to get a nice effect. I also intend to try some scripts in the future. Hopefully I don't get sidetracked again

I don't see fuzzy, either! I see a complex artefact made from brightly coloured titanium

Thanks Gill. The fuzzy bits are on the inside edge of the outer bevel and towards the ends of the larger arms. I tried all sort of resizing and playing with weights but couldn't get rid of it. I'll just have to play some more

Thanks T The fuzzy bits are the inside edge of the outer bevel and the ends of the larger arms. I did try to tidy it up but nothing seemed to work. Back to playing with the method some more

But those bits add extra depth to this incredible image... I wouldn't be changing a single thing... it's perfect just the way it is!
