Description
This really should go in my scraps, but this is a special occasion where I used an armadillo to beat the art block out of my body after a month of not drawing anything.Just doodling around, having fun. Trying to streamline how I draw Sonic characters so they don't take as long to draw while still being uniform in proportions.

Ahhh, this is awesome! It's great to see you drawing again. Loving the style you've drawn Mighty in, it fits really well, I really like the way you draw Sonic characters overall, the proportions work very well and suit your styles of colouring. But yes, loving this picture of Mighty, his expression is very cute. And I can't help but admire the way you've drawn his hands and socks, they look very nice. Great work overall, keep it up!

Gaaaah, it's been so long since I've seen Mighty in my messages! This was such a pleasant surprise
To be honest there's very few people who can pull off his design so I find myself admiring very few artist's renditions of him. But the way you draw him is very solid, and also unique, and I really like seeing your work.
I especially like the depth of field you achieved just by drawing his hands the way you did!

It's hard to be consistent with Mighty's design since he's so deceptively hard to draw. I'm still trying to find something where I finish and go "hm. yes. this is exactly what he should look like." I think it's that he looks better as a roly-poly Classic character, and looks too odd and lanky and awkward when people "modernize" him. I find a lot more great Classic Mighty art than Modern. XD
Glad you like this design though! I'm still trying to nail it down, but it's good to know it still looks okay in the meantime. I'll have to draw him more so he shows up in your inbox more often! :V

He is incredibly hard to draw, man. That's why I really appreciate the effort you must put into designing your Mighty. I think a lot of what makes him so difficult to draw and keep consistent is his limited flexibility in the torso area. I see a lot of people try to draw him doing things he wouldn't be able to do, so they have to do weird things to make it look right. He has a very limited amount of poses that can be pulled off believably.... at least that's what I've experienced drawing him
I'd appreciate more Mightys so I hope you don't get tired of him anytime soon!

It's weird, but I've always pictured his shell being about as flexible as those little rubber jumpy domes (I have no idea what they're called), that you pop them inside out, set them on the ground, and then after a minute they pop back out and fly up in the air. Those thingies. So I tend not to draw him in any position that he couldn't pull off if his back was made of one giant rubber jumpy dome, and that weeds out a lot of the odd looking poses.
...I maybe think about these things too deeply. XD

Yeah, I usually draw him scowling or being rather blank, so this time I thought I'd make him more emotive. I want to do more like this, it's cute!
