Description
A low-res page from a comic project I'm doing... more details in the future, but I can offer this for starters. It's not going to all be posted on here, just some pages and related artwork. Art done in Painter 9. I'm new to sequential art, so it'll be awhile before I hit my stride. I'm hoping to improve alot thru the process.story by Rashon Clark, art by Sinix.

No, sorry. We only did a quick comic test, so there's no other related work or design parameter type stuff.

Lovely colours! It's centered for my desktop now. The swept wing craft is substantially smaller than the straight one yes?

Awsome work sinix. It really looks like you're having fun with this. Interesting steam-punk sort of approach. How far you planning on taking this project?

Hi, great page. It looks very dynamicaly and fast. I really like thos style. The hard lines in the clouds give it a extra touch.
Can you tell what toll did you use in Painter? Thx

Funny you say you're new and it'll take a while to hit your stride. This is a perfect early page, as far as I'm concerned. I honestly don't see much room for improvement, other than VERY slight angle changes in some of the panels...
Other than that, this is beautiful!

The design work looks great so far - I like the worn look of the craft and the complexity that you've worked into it. For a rough I think this looks very polished - can't wait to see more!

Holy sh*t this looks awesome! I'm not just saying that because of my bias about flying or anything. Love them clouds. The shadow in the first panel is tight. the colors or should I say the color scheme is well put together. Really gives me the sense of open air and freedom in flight. The plane design is cool too. I like the dragonfly-ish look of the one in the first panel. For someone hoping to improve though you already seem to have a pretty damn good grasp of the sequential. At least in your compositions. There's probably not alot of story on this page with dialogue and all but still it doesn't seem crowded. That last panel especially makes me want to read the next page. Damn it! I'm adding this to favorites right now!!

love the colours on this one. your style is especially well-suited to comics imo, which i think is a good thing, as a comic artist myself ;]
btw i'm looking to illustrate a sequential art project if anyone's got a story going begging.

I'm trying my best at sequential work. adn this is just stunning. Did you do this all on teh computer, or was it penciled then ink then scanned?
Sorry, I'm just curious >.<
But I love the use of colour and the design of the pane, simple but extremely effective.

All on the computer.. I'm trying to keep the time to a minimum, so no traditional stuff.

Thank you for your reply,
I'm just wondering if it's best to do sequential illustrations either soley on the computer, or draw it out, ink then computer it. Becasue I really want to put it as a profesion, but deciding on how to go about my method is really confusing me. So would the best way to go would to do it all completely on Painter/Photoshop and leave the pens, pencils behind.

from scratch in painter? no pre sketching? looks like it has potential

Thanks... I think the story has potential, just hope I manage to make the art interesting. Well, I did some loose linework in painter, just to get the idea of what I was gonna paint, but nothing outside of painter, no.

great job, it has promise.
this seems to have something to do with flight (airplanes etc..) I suggest you contact flight comics, and ask if you could get this in their next book... [link]

Thanks for the reply, and yea, I really like the flight comics that have come out.. although, all the flying stuff in this story is just in the start. But it would be fun to try and do a comic for them some day. Once I get a good feel for sequentials.

sequentials are really easy...once you get the hang of them.
and your comic, from what I can see, is no doubt good enough quality to go into flight...
