I woke up this morning really in the mood for some Trouble with Skyrim and a reread of Kingdom Come, and after a few minutes pondering, I finally recalled the villain's name from memory. It's so striking I decided to play around with the letter arrangement while lying in bed, and WHAT do I figure out?
Xelbosh is an X-Shelob; literally everything the other's not.
You clever cookie, you. Why didn't I get the hint at Valdimar?

Heh. I'm flattered, though I can't take all the credit. I got the naming convention from the bad guys in Kingdom Hearts 2. But it's fitting, no?

Ooooh. Just keeps getting more and more interesting!
Loved Shelob thinking about what would happen to Batman if he was stricken with vampirism.

I thought I was going to cry with Akatosh in the form of the Posh Mudcrab, and then you had to wake Batman up with HARVEY DENT, CAN WE TRUST HIM??!!!" I almost fell out of my chair. But then you killed Brynjolf, and that's just crazy talk.

I never get tired of "Dark Knight" jokes. Especially those CollegeHumor videos.

Good thing Batman doesn't take his name as serious as turning into an actual bat...

I think Xelbosh and Mordistair could be the best of friends, Xelbosh is a freaking boss! XD
I am also glad he did away with Brynjolf... man I hated that guy, if Karliah is next, I'll be happy... especially if we bring in her "I totally do not worship a daedric prince, but I still feel the need to appease Nocturnal" nonsense

Ooh, glad you think so.
I really dislike the way they handled the "but you HAVE to sell your soul to Nocturnal! It's our ONLY CHANCE!" bit of the Thieves Guild questline. It was actually pretty enjoyable until then.

I know it just comes out of nowhere and makes no sense.
I also don't like the theives guild in Skyrim, they just come across as a bunch of mean brutes compared to the one in Cyrodiil.

Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like you were using 'Destroy the Thieves Guild' mod by bruce142 [link] ...
Anyway, comic is great with very intriguing storyline. Good work! And keep it up!
Can't wait to see next part!

"Yes, we've been other this."
I was noticing that you, , and I all don't use profanity in our comics. *high five*

Gotta love those videos.
Hooray for G-rated dialogue! "Horker" is such a fun catch-all substitute, it does make those things easier to work around.

Oh my, I could see the reference to the 1989 Batman movie immediately. It made me wonder if the vampire lord was really the Joker ... but that'd be ... ay yi yi!
Hmmm, if the Thieves Guild has been taken over by the Vampire Lord, then I wouldn't be surprised if Karliah takes an "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" attitude.
I also remember the graphic novel where Batman became a vampire. If I find that picture again, I'll let you know where.

I love that movie, so I had to throw that in.
I've not actually read Blood Rain, but by all accounts it's pretty good. Still kind of jarring to see Batman start taking his name a little more literally.

A mudcrab was the only form Shelob's puny mind could comprehend in that tiny room? Poor Akatosh. And I'm so pleased Brynjolf is dead in this version of Skyrim. How I hate that red headed jerk.

Why does everyone hate Brynjolf? He seems like the only half decent guy there. What with the Bandit, the Jailbreaker, Mercer, and the others. Plus he reminds me of Sean Connery.
π: 0 β©: 1
Wildroses2009 In reply to Hyaskus [2014-01-19 03:38:52 +0000 UTC]
Half decent is still half horrible. I read someone saying they couldn't stand how the Thieves Guild members cause misery to everyone by theft and framing but think they are morally superior because they draw the line at murder. But for me, my hate is personal.
Β
The first character I met had talked to Brand-Shei before Brynjolf marched over, and I prided myself on having earned every single septim and item I had honestly. So having this red headed creep stalk me across the market because he thought I'd helpΒ him frame this nice elf because IΒ wasn't walking or dressing like I'd earned my gold honestly didn't go down well.
Β
Plus he's a goddamn liar. If at any point you tab out of that first conversation you have with Brynjolf he says: "I can take a hint lass. Come see me if you want to make some coin," which is the biggest lie a Skyrim NPC has ever told me.Β I get within a one metre radius of him and he's all "Glad to see you came to your senses, lass. Ready to make some coin?" again and again and again...
