Description
*Constructive Feedback Welcome*
One of the more useful pieces of feedback I received last year was that I needed to work on my perspective. Granted, I was aware of this beforehand, but I didn't know that my lack of grasp of the subject was evident even with some of the more simplistic compositions I was already doing, so this was helpful information. As I was struggling to figure out what to do for yesterday's practice, I stumbled into a YouTube video I had saved for later viewing on perspective by David Finch (I'll post the link below) and decided to try my hand at some of his exercises.
Although I was already familiar with the principles of perspective thanks to some of my Drawabox practice (which I've unfortunately been unable to resume), I definitely still need more practice before it becomes an intuitive and nature part of my drawing process. I decided to keep it to 1-point perspective for this workout for the sake of not overwhelming myself with information. Honestly, the hardest parts to grasp was the telephone pole exercise - #5 - and figuring out how I wanted to draw the perspective graphs. For the last exercise, I actually tried using CSP's perspective ruler; I think it served its purpose, but it looked janky and I hid it for the final image. In other words, I need more practice with a few of these tools.
That's about all I can add here. Thanks for viewing!
