I think I want to post more of my WIPs and studies this year, and to that end, here's something I worked on this morning before going to sleep. In an effort to improve my figure drawings, I want to practice breaking down more complex poses and angles into simple forms. In the submission above, I started by drawing the forms to the best of my current understanding first and then tracing over the images to find a more accurate portrayal of those forms for comparison's sake. I was also planning to do some perspective practices here by trying to find the horizon line in each image, but I found myself getting tired towards the end of this exercise - next time!

I still struggle with overlapping forms, often getting too conservative with where the forms overlap. I also think the way I drawing the start of the legs needs to be improved, as I still often have issues with exactly where the leg begins from the hips, especially at 3/4 views and the like. That said, figuring out my issues and resolving them is all part of the point of doing these exercises. If you see any other areas I can improve, feel free to let me know.
