One day, my mom left me... And that's it, that's the whole story, there was no warning, she just... disappeared. Well okay, maybe that's over-simplifying it... I was only five, I didn't really know how to read feelings or subtext, so maybe I missed something, but... The last I remember of her, I thought we were staying at a hostel, I remember falling asleep beside her, she kissed me on the forehead and smiled as she always did, it seemed normal, but then I woke up, and she was gone, and a stranger told me I had to stay, that I was in an orphanage, and would remain there until I was an adult... I kicked up quite the fuss, as you can likely imagine... But there was really nothing I could do... They also told me to not use the Force anymore because it could get me into trouble, though again, you know me, heheh... Anyway... About a week after I felt something weird, a pain in my chest, that day too I was visited by a man with an eye-patch, he... gave me my mothers Lightsaber, said she'd told him to give it to me, and that I should bury it, keep it hidden safe away until I was old enough to leave... He then told me that my mother was dead, and then he just left... I think I screamed and cried so much I passed out... ~Quinn Shara, talking with a close friend (possibly Orchid or rayn44 and SlingBlade87 's Jaeriel) about discovering she'd been orphaned, a private and sensitive subject for Quinn, which is only vaguely referenced in her memoirs...

This time of Quinn during her childhood and teenage years, with a few weapon and ship sketches thrown in for good measure.
By the way, does the man in the description sound familiar...? I'm preeetty sure I have a Star Wars OC with an eye-patch...

Even before she could talk Quinn displayed a remarkable affinity with the Force, it wasn't something she was consciously aware of, it was instinct, much like a baby crawling, it made her mother proud, but also extremely sad, knowing that Quinn had been born into a world where she would be persecuted for her gift...

Growing up in an orphanage was tough on Quinn, and unlike the other children Quinn was refused adoption too, as the only way to ensure her Force Sensitivity remained secret was to keep a constant eye on her, though the issue was compounded by the fact that Quinn was a stubborn child, with her heart set on becoming a Jedi... She'd often get really emotional, and when that happened she'd inadvertently cause damage to her surroundings through the Force...

She wrapped her Mother's Lightsaber in rags and buried it in the yard under dirt and rocks, she'd occasionally dig it up whenever she missed her mom, but she always kept it hidden away from staff and other children.

By her early teens her mind was full of fantasies about becoming a Jedi, she'd swing around a brush and pretend it was a Lightsaber, the other kids thought she was pretty weird... By age fourteen she'd become frustrated and depressed, wanting a better life, and finally at age 15, after hearing rumors of a Rebellion against the Empire, she dug up her Mother's Lightsaber for the final time and left the orphanage, ready to forge her own path through the stars...

Her Mother's Lightsaber design is quite simple, but Quinn doesn't ever dare tweak it, wanting to preserve the only piece of her Mother that remained...
(This is pretty much the final design of her Lightsaber hilt. )

Some time during her Rebellion/ New Republic years she crafts herself a rather bulky double barreled blaster pistol, it has two separate triggers, and two separate power packs, meaning that both barrels were entirely independent, Quinn's preferred firing method was a rapid double-tap, the top barrel firing first, and by the time the second trigger was depressed the recoil had lifted the bottom barrel into the position the top barrel had been in, almost ensuring both bolts hit the exact same mark. She jokingly names this blaster Twice the Charm, after her modified X-Wing Charm Offensive!

Quinn's first ship, before the Alliance gains X-Wings and they become her primary fighter, is a Z95 Headhunter, one of her secret hobbies throughout the Galactic Civil War is to customize and modify her unused Z95, for Orchid's 16th birthday (estimated as no one knows her actual birthday) Quinn reveals that she's been working on it on and off for several years, and gives it to Orchid as a gift, with it's modifications it far outperforms standard Z95's, and can reliably operate even alongside more advanced craft like A-Wings and such.

Eheheh, Hopefully I'll continue with Blood on the Snow real soon, family stuff's kinda' been distracting me, my bad...
