I finished this last night before I went to bed. The only reason I'm submitting it is because I opened it for review this morning and actually scared myself.Sometimes I really freak myself out. Art is funny like that.
About the setup itself: I basically slathered my face with very thin sheets of wet tissue paper and posed like a crazywoman.
It's in Indy Art because it's (obviously) been heavily manipped in Photoshop. Original photo taken with the CP5k. Three overlay layers for contrast and saturation. Dodging and burning in the eye area, as it was underexposed. A very slight gradient adjustment layer added to mess with the colors. Sharpness to the point of grain (this is intentional). Minor clean-up with the Healing Brush (the public doesn't need to see my pimples).

Seriously, though, you've outdone yourself. Heck, you even scared yourself...that takes talent. You scared me too. But you impressed me at the same time... I'm amazed at your willingness to experiment. Honestly. To me, you're the bottomless pit of self-creativity. If people applied your mindset, creative & imaginative outlook to their fields, our world (in both artistic and scientific aspects) would be expanded ten fold.

the emotion of this is great the expression is wickedly scary yet also funny at the same time. i dont know if you remember the movie it was a low budget film and from the mid 80s but it was called goulies i belive (not goonies) but there was a seen at the end which terafied me for life, where one of the goules comes up out of the toliet and attacks a guy who was sitting on the throne if you know what i mean, oddly this reminds me of that seen, due to the expresion and the wet paper -shivers

I love the work you've done to this. The angle and close up on the nose gives a great all around effect to it. The work you did on the eye is really cool as well and that whole top right corner has a very escher style to it (just in the way he draws, the grainy pencil kinda way.. i dunno. it struck me as so)

Ok the thought of the wet paper on my own face just kind of creeps me out, it's like you have been hit by the worlds biggest spitball (shudder).

Very wicked! It probably took longer to clean your face than it did to shoot this one....lol. This isnt something I would do, but you've managed to create something very real have done a good job doing it. Your manip skills appear to be very good, because this shot, at least to me is very smooth, and nothing is distracting. Nice job six.

Seriously, i'm not even going to describe what i feel when looking at this. I can tell you that it's not fear or terror. More like the feeling you get when you see something terrible but are unable to do something about it. I *dread* that feeling.
The inclusion of one eye is a good move, as it gives the whole image more of a "face", and greatly emphasizes the mask of terror you're wearing. Technically stunning as well. You use a lot of red here, and again this serves to create the "vibe".
I'm very curious about where in the nine hells you got the idea to put wet paper all over your delicate face and photograph it all in the process.
