Description
I edited one of the pics of me in the 2816 Empress Steam Engine. This engine was built in 1930 and is in near mint condition.
I was told its very rare for any photographers to get inside and for me to sit in the driver's seat was quite an honor.
The engine runs on steam but was converted to oil burning instead of coal.
Picture taken in Golden, BC. The Empress was in town celebrating the 125th anniversary of the last spike driven in the Canadian Trans Continental Railway linking Eastern Canada to the West through the Rocky Mountains.

Yes it was very hot! The wall is 350 degrees F and there is no air conditioning. It was a hot day too.
