I just used the same technique for the splash as the rest of the picture. Brush on low opacity is key, I think

Astonishing. This is one of very few digital drawings I mistake as a photograph when I look at the thumbnail. I think I would never draw so professionally. May I ask, do you draw with a tablet?

I most certainly do use a tablet! I've used a mouse before and while the picture came out decently, it was veryyy hard work, so I quickly invested in getting one XD

I am currently trying to earn money to buy a tablet cause I'm trying to get better at drawing every day and all drawings still look horrible XD

My first tablet was really expensive. It was an Wacom intuous 3, when they first came out. I think I paid around $500.
My current tablet is a wacom Bamboo, and it only cost me $100 including postage! And seriously, it works just as well as the expensive tablet.

Thanks! I have looked at the prices, good tablets are only sold in one store in Estonia and the cheaper ones have all been bought. The expensive ones are about 60 cm (2 ft) wide and they cost 13000 kroons (that would be around $1300)!!!

I love the angle of this piece! I don't know why but I love the way the body is shaped of the whale swimming down. Graceful curves maybe? lol
