Description
Been working on this for a couple weeks...I decided this afternoon that I wouldn't stop until I finished this picture. Am I ever going to be a zombie at work tomorrow.Since was #500 to my gallery, she gets a picture. Since she saw "Fiddler on the Roof" and got to meet Mr. Molina, I figured this was appropriate. OMG Double Meaning in what Otto is saying! (Can I get more nauseatingly cutesy? No, I didn't think so).
Self crit self crit! This style was hard for me, the style basically being "paint in photoshop with no black lines at all, just work from blocks of color". The actuators, while not exactly like those in the movie, are close enough and I like 'em, especially the glowy bits. I finally decided to make the distinction between the upper pair and the lower pair - they are quite different! The background is a photo I took of a sunset near Moss Landing (I forgive you if you have no idea where that is) but I added in some houses there. I think the color balance worked out okay, and I'm alright with the hair.
Don't even look at that violin or how she's holding it. I didn't use a reference and it shows. At least I realized at the last minute that her left hand is backwards. I also just realized that she's playing the violin left-handed (as I did/would) which probably isn't accurate, but my brain is wired to draw that way. And I gave up with shading and used the dodge and burn tools (a horrible horrible sin) to help me out.
I hope Amazon likes this. Show me that you're visitor #1000 and I'll stay up half the night drawing you something pretty too.

EEE!!!! This is such a fabulous picture! Thank you soooo much!!! *dances about the house, recieving looks of confusion from her dog* And I have a fiddle!
For some odd reason, I keep getting the mental image from Young Frankenstein....the crazy lady who played the fiddle XD Frau. Ha...........
sorry...lost my train of thought right there.
I love the actuators very much! They're so well-detailed...and glowey and you gave me my fuzzums jacket! lol It's good luck you know...Maybe that's why I suddenly have the ability to fiddle! Yay! And I love the expressions on their faces....expecially Otto. The eyebrow thing?
love that.
lol double meaning for what Otto is saying!

The fuzzums jacket...that was actually an accident. I was all "I don't know what she should wear...hey, I'll just draw her wearing what I'm wearing right now!" I by fuzzy jacket.
I'm glad you like the picture, I'm quite happy with it too, overall. The eyebrow thing? I fall for that every time. Remember Hugh Jackman as Logan? Mrowwr ...uh, where was I? Therefore, I try to incorporate the expression into any picture I can.

Fuzzy Jackets Rock.
I commend any man who can to the eyebrow thing...Hugh Jackman, Alfred Molina....I'm sure there are others, but these are the only two I every really paid attention to XD

Nothing wrong with using dodge and burn *looks over shoulder to make sure no one is looking* I use it ALL the time
And BOY did you outdo yourself this time XD I'm lovin' this... his glasses are GREEN (loves green too much for her own good) I like the texturing on Amazon's jacket, and the color scheme of the picture as a whole is very appealing.
And you were right about those actuators, they're detailed so well, you even made sure to get the ends of the upper ones pointier (is that a word? lol) than the lower ones.
The violin... no, she's playing it as if she were right handed I think? I've only tried playing one once and I used my left hand to hold the instrument itself and my right to move the bow. Unless my teacher thought I was a lefty O_O Now you've got me all curious as to the proper ways of fiddlin'
The one eyebrow lifted... you do know that has to be one of the most attractive traits the man has And you did the expression so well!
fantastic, Amazon will adore it ^^

Ha! Your eye style in the comics about yourself come through in Otto's face. It makes him look younger -- not that it's a bad thing. I like this! Amazon playing the violin. Does she really? What's wrong with Dodge and Burn, before I dig into Photoshop this December? I think the shading's fine here. Love the blending of colors on the actuators, and the little red glow bubble of light.

Yeah, I can't draw the olda boys too well. You should have been there the time I tried to draw Snape. He looked 14. I dont' think Amazon plays the violin, but she's being a fiddler on the roof, you see. Dodge and Burn shading is often thought of as cheating, and it can be easily spotted. But that's what I get for using what is technically a photo editing program to draw with. I love glowies and had fun adding the red in this one. Glad you liked!
